Klay Thompson on Game 4 Loss: 'Time to Go Put on a Show for Our Fans in Oakland'

Scott PolacekJun 9, 2017

The Golden State Warriors missed an opportunity to finish an NBA Finals sweep of the Cleveland Cavaliers in Friday's Game 4 at Quicken Loans Arena, but Klay Thompson was already looking forward to coming back home.

He said it was "time to go put on a show for our fans in Oakland" after Friday's loss, per the team.

Thompson will be looking for his own individual redemption in front of those fans after Cleveland steamrolled Golden State 137-116. His 13 points on 4-of-11 shooting were far short of the 30 points on 11-of-18 shooting he poured in during the Warriors' Game 3 win.

Fortunately for Thompson and his teammates, they are returning to Oracle Arena for Monday's Game 5. They haven't lost there in eight playoff games and finished 36-5 at home during the regular season.

The Cavaliers have momentum following Friday's win, but stealing Game 5 and Game 7 in Oracle—not to mention winning Game 6 in Cleveland—is a daunting task for the defending champions.

Yes, Cleveland overcame a 3-1 deficit in last year's Finals, but Kevin Durant wasn't on the Warriors, Draymond Green was suspended for Game 5, and Stephen Curry was dealing with lingering health concerns.

The situation is different this time around, and Thompson seemed ready to close the series at home.
