Warriors Parade 2017: Route, Date, Schedule, TV Info and More

Scott PolacekJun 12, 2017

The Golden State Warriors spent the 2016 summer ruing a missed championship after blowing a 3-1 lead in the NBA Finals. They will spend at least part of the 2017 summer partying after avenging themselves.

Golden State finished its incredible run through the postseason with a 129-120 victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers in Monday's Game 5 of the Finals at Oracle Arena. The next step is a parade, and scheduling information for the party has already been released.

According to the team's official site, the parade will be Thursday in downtown Oakland, California. Festivities will kick off at 10 a.m. PT on Broadway at 11th Street and culminate at the Henry J. Kaiser Convention Center. NBC Bay Area will likely provide live television coverage, as it did for the Warriors' 2015 parade.

Fans in the Bay Area will have the opportunity to see and hear from their star-studded team up close, including NBA Finals MVP Kevin Durant, Splash Brothers Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson, and the versatile Draymond Green.

Warriors fans should be used to celebrating at this point. This same core beat the Cavaliers in the 2015 Finals and won an NBA record 73 games last season before recapturing the Larry O'Brien Trophy with Durant this year.

NBA.com detailed the 2015 parade and noted fans "lined up 20 and 30 deep" and started arriving at 4 a.m. as the proceedings went from downtown Oakland to a rally site at Lake Merritt. There was even a cameo from Oakland native and running back Marshawn Lynch.

Expect more of the same revelry this time around, only there will likely be a sense of cathartic relief after last year's Finals collapse. Golden State is back on top of the basketball world in the present and that is worthy of a parade.
