Kevin Durant Says 'It's Not Over' After Game 3 Win, Comments on Clutch 3-Pointer

Kevin Durant spearheaded the Golden State Warriors' 118-113 victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers in Game 3 of the NBA Finals on Wednesday, but he recognized even a 3-0 lead doesn't guarantee his first career title.

"It's not over," he said, per Anthony Slater of the San Jose Mercury News. "The job's not done. Closeout games are the toughest."

Durant also commented on his critical go-ahead three-pointer in the final minute, per TSN: "Been working on that shot my whole life."

The work paid off in the biggest of moments with the game on the line Wednesday. With the Warriors trailing by two in Quicken Loans Arena, he pulled up and drilled the three-pointer to give his team the lead for good.

Had he missed it, the Cavaliers could be playing for a chance to tie the series during Friday's Game 4. Instead, the Warriors will be striving for a sweep and perfect 16-0 mark in the postseason, cementing their status as one of the greatest teams in NBA history.

Durant's recognition that it is not over is noteworthy considering Golden State's recent history. Although No. 35 was on the Oklahoma City Thunder at the time, the Warriors blew a 3-1 series lead in last year's Finals to this same Cavaliers squad even though they won a record 73 games during the regular season.

Of course, Durant's presence makes a monumental difference, as evidenced by his 34 points and 10 rebounds a night through the first three games of the Finals. As long as he continues to play at such an elevated level and the Warriors maintain the focus Durant hinted at after Game 3, they will finish the Cavaliers and reclaim their spot as NBA champions.
