Pete Carroll Comments on Seahawks' Win vs. Patriots, New England Fans
Pete Carroll spent three seasons as the head coach of the New England Patriots, so he's familiar with how rabid the team's fanbase is.
But after his Seattle Seahawks bested the Patriots, 31-24, on Sunday night, Carroll told 710 ESPN Seattle he wasn't blown away by the environment inside Gillette Stadium, according to ESPN.com's Sheil Kapadia:
"It's not a great place. They weren't nuts. It's because they're so used to winning. There was a time when they kicked their last field goal to go ahead, and it was like a round of applause for the nice effort. Gosh, our guys would be going berserk. We're so hungry for it. It's a gorgeous setting, beautiful arena and the fans, just the whole thing. It's really classy.

However, Carroll did say he enjoyed some of the smack talk he heard from Patriots fans regarding Russell Wilson's last-second interception from the 1-yard line in Super Bowl 49.
"There was a lot of, 'Thanks for throwing it.' That kind of stuff, all that kind of garbage," he said, per Kapadia. "They were just being themselves. It was great. It was classic."
Following their loss on Sunday night, the Patriots are now 3-2 at home compared to 4-0 on the road in 2016.
In Week 11, they will try to boost that road mark to 5-0 when they travel to the Bay Area for a meeting with a San Francisco 49ers team that has dropped eight games in a row following a season-opening win over the Los Angeles Rams.
The Seahawks, meanwhile, are 4-0 with the 12th man at their back in the Pacific Northwest. That mark compares favorably to a record of 2-2-1 away from home.
But with a big win over the Patriots in hand and the Philadelphia Eagles on deck in Week 11, the Seahawks have a chance to win three straight as they try to build more momentum and reclaim the NFC West crown.
