Mark Sanchez Comments on Attempt to Win Broncos' Starting QB Job
Mark Sanchez was traded on March 11 to the Denver Broncos, his third team since being drafted No. 5 overall in 2009.
It's going to be a different look at quarterback for the Broncos next year, and Sanchez realizes he's one of the guys who will have a chance to be the starter next year for the defending Super Bowl champions.
"Coming to the Denver Broncos, this is a gift-wrapped opportunity. I believe in fate and destiny," Sanchez said, per Troy E. Renck of the Denver Post. "There's no excuse. I need to take full advantage. There's nothing more important in my life than this."

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
The Philadelphia Eagles traded Sanchez, who led the New York Jets to the AFC Championship Game twice, to Denver for a seventh-round draft pick. He was expendable because the Eagles re-signed Sam Bradford while also adding former Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Chase Daniel.
The difference between Philadelphia's situation and Denver's is the Broncos are trying to salvage their quarterback position.
Peyton Manning retired after winning his second Super Bowl, while Brock Osweiler spurned Denver to sign with the Houston Texans in free agency, leaving the quarterback position wide-open. Denver has tried to fill those extra roster spots via trade with the likes of Colin Kaepernick, per ESPN's Adam Schefter, but Sanchez welcomes the challenge of whoever else is under center.
"I don't care who's there. They are going to give me a fair shake. And if it's a fair shot, I will bet on myself," Sanchez said, per Renck. "I will compete my butt off and be friendly and professional with whoever's there. But I want this so bad. Since I was a little kid, I have been dreaming about a chance to win a Super Bowl."
The Broncos are in a bind when it comes to quarterbacks, but they must have seen something in Sanchez they liked to want him. He'll turn 30 years old this year and has not taken that next step to being a star quarterback. But he has as good of a chance as anyone on the roster to win the starting job right now.
