Super Bowl 50 Betting Props: Receivers and Running Backs NFL Odds Roundup

OddsShark.comFeb 2, 2016

There is no doubt the two quarterbacks will take center stage both leading up to Super Bowl 50 and in the big game itself. But Cam Newton of the Carolina Panthers and Peyton Manning of the Denver Broncos needed the help of their teammates to get here and will count on them to make plays when it matters most Sunday.

There are many different props worth betting on at sportsbooks monitored by Odds Shark for Super Bowl 50, including ones featuring running backs, wide receivers, tight ends, kickers and even defensive players.

For example, Denver wide receivers Demaryius Thomas and Emmanuel Sanders, and Carolina running backs Jonathan Stewart and Mike Tolbert are among the other key members of their respective teams who bettors can put their money on to perform well or disappoint. How they play could end up impacting the outcome of the Super Bowl.

Thomas has been the more inconsistent of the two Broncos, although he is a +300 co-favorite (bet $100 to win $300) to total the most receiving yards in Super Bowl 50, with Sanders the +325 third choice.

Panthers tight end Greg Olsen is the other +300 co-favorite as Newton’s favorite target, followed by Ted Ginn Jr. at +500. Other receiving props include total receiving yards, total receptions and longest reception.

Stewart is the +120 favorite to have the most rushing yards in Super Bowl 50, followed closely by Denver running back C.J. Anderson at +130. Newton is the +500 third choice, with Ronnie Hillman of the Broncos fourth at +700 and Tolbert the long shot at +5000.

You can even wager on how many yards each player’s first rushing attempt will be and how many attempts they will get in addition to longest rush.

Tolbert’s numbers are the smallest at 2.5, 3.5 and 5.5, respectively, with the over favored slightly in the first two props and the under in the third. He rushed for 256 yards during the regular season.

For those who think this will be another blowout in favor of Denver’s opponent like Super Bowl XLVIII, predicting the margin of victory could also be a fun prop on which to wager.

Taking Carolina, the clear betting favorite for the game, to win by 31-36 points like the Seattle Seahawks did in a 43-8 rout of the Broncos two years ago is worth +2500. The same bet for Denver to win by that many points is +7500, showing the difference between the two teams.
