Kirk Cousins, DeSean Jackson, Jordan Reed's Post-Week 15 Fantasy Advice

Daniel KramerDec 20, 2015

The Washington Redskins maintained their perch atop the middling NFC East on Sunday with a 35-25 win over the Buffalo Bills in Week 15, and their offensive playmakers continued to display their viability in the fantasy playoffs.

Quarterback Kirk Cousins tied a season high with four touchdown passes and continues to mesh with wide receiver DeSean Jackson since his return from injury. Tight end Jordan Reed has also come along nicely and has been on fire in the red zone.

Cousins has essentially made incumbent quarterback Robert Griffin III a forgotten commodity after shaking his stigma of being a turnover machine.

Since Week 12, during which the Redskins are 3-1, Cousins has thrown for 1,140 yards and seven touchdowns with just one interception.

He may not have the allure of some other fantasy quarterbacks. But it's playoff time, and owners must start their best players. Cousins might very well be that option.

He’s currently waiver bait owned in just 25 percent of leagues, and the Redskins' final two games are against the struggling Philadelphia Eagles and the playoff-eliminated Dallas Cowboys.

Cousins posted 21 points against Philly earlier this year and was held to just 12 against the Cowboys, but that number could be a misnomer, as Dallas has struggled mightily in forcing turnovers. Either way, Cousins deserves consideration in all formats.

Jackson gave the Redskins reassurance in their decision to sign him two offseasons ago in what was easily his best game since returning from a lengthy injury hiatus in Week 9.

He caught six of his eight targets and finished with 153 yards and a lengthy score, as shown by the NFL:

One could also make a case Jackson has been a pivotal factor for Cousins’ success, as he’s become the quarterback’s favorite target, and it’s showing in the fantasy stat sheet. Over the last five games, Jackson is averaging 12.6 points per game.

He's available in 21.6 percent of leagues and should be considered in WR2 and flex situations over the final two weeks—particularly against his former team in Philadelphia.

Reed rewarded owners with a pair of touchdowns to bring his season tally to eight.

Matt Bowen of ESPN.com took notice of Reed’s ability to create red-zone separation, which has paid off nicely late this season:

The NFL shared a video of Reed’s second touchdown, which showcased a nice route across the center:

Reed entered Week 15 ranked sixth among tight ends in what is considered a weak fantasy position, but he’s scored a combined 38 fantasy points the last two weeks.

Unless owners have a more viable option at tight end—such as Rob Gronkowski or Greg Olsen—Reed should be a must-start in the final weeks.
