Gary Kubiak Comments on Peyton Manning, Broncos' QB Situation
Will it be future Hall of Famer Peyton Manning or the up-and-coming Brock Osweiler under center for the Denver Broncos in Week 15?
According to the Broncos' official website, head coach Gary Kubiak left the decision up in the air in Monday's press conference, making it the first time in four weeks he didn't name Osweiler the starter.
"I've got to see where [Manning] is at," Kubiak said. "We've got to talk through his situation, where we're at, and talk to "Greek" [head athletic trainer Steve Antonopulos]."

Osweiler has started the past four games for the Broncos after replacing an injured Manning in a Week 10 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. Denver has gone 3-1 during that stretch.
Despite not playing the past four weeks, Manning still leads the league with 17 interceptions. Here is a look at how the two compare this season:
| Peyton Manning | 59.9 | 256.5 | 1.1 | 2.0 |
| Brock Osweiler | 63.5 | 253.3 | 1.1 | 0.7 |
Their numbers are close save for the interceptions, but they can sometimes be deceiving. For instance, this accomplishment in Week 14 against the Oakland Raiders didn't do much for Denver, per ESPN Stats & Info:
Osweiler ended up completing 35 of 51 passes for 308 yards, but the Broncos scored just 12 points and lost Sunday's game, dropping their division lead over the Kansas City Chiefs to just two games.
Evan Silva of Rotoworld thinks the decision should be an easy one once Manning can go:
As John Breech of CBSSports.com noted, Kubiak has said ever since Manning was hurt that he would return to starting duties once healthy.
His comments in Monday's press conference seemed to support that: "We went through a good week last week. We gave [Manning] the weekend off, so we'll see where we're at. We'll have a plan in place by the time we get to Wednesday, but we'll see where we're at today, and kind of take it a day at a time."
The head coach doesn't seem in a rush to hurry Manning back, though: "I mean, nothing has changed. Until I sit down and see exactly where Peyton's at, where we're moving this week. If we went out to practice today, absolutely nothing has changed today."
It's hard to say who would be better at this point, and it's clear a strong Denver defense is still carrying the team.
However, given this has been Manning's worst season of his career, one thing that's for sure is he needs to be at 100 percent to even be considered for the starting job.
