Okung Key Piece to Seahawks' Improving O-Line
In his sixth year, Okung has yet to play a full 16-game season and missed one game earlier this year after suffering an ankle injury during practice in Week 8. He missed two or more games in four of his five previous seasons and has sat out 20 games overall in his career.
Nevertheless, Okung has been a mainstay on Seattle's offensive line since the team selected him sixth overall in the 2010 NFL draft.
"This has always been kind of a work in progress," offensive line coach Tom Cable said in October, per Bob Condotta of the Seattle Times. "And I said when they get it, they are going to be really good, and that hasn't changed."
The offensive line has come together in the second half of the season, and its recent play is one of the big reasons why the Seahawks finished strong heading into the postseason. Getting Okung back into the fold is a major boost for Seattle's attempt to make a third straight Super Bowl.
