Kalil Available for Packers Game

Sunday, Nov. 8

The Panthers confirmed that Kalil is active for Sunday's game.

Latest on Kalil's Practice Status

Thursday, Nov. 5

The Panthers announced Kalil was a limited participant in today's session, per ESPN's David Newton.

Kalil a Reliable Option for Panthers

Kalil has been extremely durable over the course of his career, starting all 16 regular-season games in every year but one from 2009 through 2014. The 2007 second-round pick out of USC played only five games in 2012 due to a foot injury. However, he has remained generally healthy ever since.

With Kalil on the shelf in Week 8, the Panthers turned to Fernando Velasco at center.

While Velasco is a capable replacement, Kalil's loss couldn't be overstated. He has a great rapport with quarterback Cam Newton, and he is a big reason why Newton, running back Jonathan Stewart and the Panthers lead the NFL in rushing offense with 144 yards per game on the ground.

The 7-0 Panthers are about much more than one player, but Kalil is a true leader on offense, so they'll be glad to have him back.
