Roman Reigns, WWE Tough Enough, Sasha Banks and More from the Future Mailbag
In this week's mailbag, Roman Reigns season is approaching. Instead of complaining, many meta fans seem content with bringing their favorite winter jackets and hoping for the best.
Championship Reigns?
"@ThisIsNasty Now that he's in the main event picture again do you think Roman is going to receive the same backlash he did at royal rumbel?

Fresh Backstage WWE Rumors 👊

Modern-Day Dream Matches 💭

Most Likely Backlash Heel/Face Turns 🎭
No. Not even close. Even the most hardcore fans in the WWE Universe are beginning to accept the reality that Reigns is here to stay.
The "Let's go Roman, Roman sucks" chants heard at Hell in a Cell should be worn like a badge of honor, as these types of polarizing outcries are reserved for only top WWE Superstars.
Never will you ever hear a "Let's go Cesaro, Cesaro sucks" chant. He'll never be relevant enough to be that polarizing.
WWE needs to continue to use Reigns sparingly on the microphone and let him do his damage in the ring. It's not that I feel he doesn't have the ability to deliver a great promo, but his character is most effective when he speaks softly and carries a big stick.
Reigns is beginning his WWE Championship chase early, and I think it's because WWE wants to get the title on him before the Royal Rumble so it doesn't have to worry about nerd rage III. Following a strong main event this past Monday on Raw, which elicited "Roman" chants, the plan is succeeding.
Banks Withdrawal?
"@ThisIsNasty why isn't Sasha banks being featured at all recently? Doesn't wwe know what they have?
— Kevin (@kcummens20) October 29, 2015"
Preserving Sasha Banks is the most brilliant thing WWE has done with its Divas division, which isn't saying much. WWE's coddling of Banks as fans continue to chant "We want Sasha" is the one sliver of subtlety in an otherwise forced Divas Revolution.
In a perfect world, WWE would continue to play up Banks as an elite Diva who had all these great matches in NXT while only allowing her to wrestle on a limited basis. As a heel, Banks can play into this concept by constantly refusing to wrestle until a major pay-per-view event.
If WWE really wants the Divas Revolution to work, fans have to come to it. By holding back its promising young Diva, WWE is on the right track.
Total Diva vs. Women's Champion?
"@ThisIsNasty is Eva Marie the right choice for a NXT Women's championship match against Bayley at the next NXT Takeover?
— Dynomite (@DylanClaxynoT) October 29, 2015"
I'd love to see a program between Eva Marie and Bayley, provided Eva Marie continues to improve in the ring. The two are polar opposites. Just seeing Eva Marie creates a visceral response among wrestling fans who channel their hatred for the mean girls in high school.
Bayley is the antithesis of Eva Marie, and the two clashing ideals will make for an incredible feud that would captivate the dedicated NXT audience.
In addition to the general personality and character differences, Marie quickly became an enemy of Internet message boards for her perceived lack of in-ring ability, while Bayley can do no wrong. A title change where Marie cheats to beat the underdog could cause several servers to crash out of sheer anger.
WWE Tough Enough: WWE Performance Center Edition
"@ThisIsNasty I've got one for you. Which recent Tough Enough contestant has the greatest chance of succeeding?
— Chris Mueller (@BR_Doctor) October 29, 2015"
WWE loaded up on Tough Enough alumni recently. According to PWInsider (h/t Wrestling Inc), Mada, ZZ Loupe, Patrick Clark, Daria Berenato and Amanda Saccomanno were recently signed to contracts to go along with winners Josh Brendl and Sara Lee.
This past season of Tough Enough was the worst yet in terms of character development. Even Seth Rollins told me in an interview on the PodNasty Wrestling Podcast that he felt none of them stood out.
WWE's jumbled format of the show negatively affected telling individual stories of the contestants, but if I were to pick one person who will make it, I'd have to go with Patrick.
Patrick's elimination was seen as shocking, and nobody possessed a better combination of knowledge of the wrestling business and athleticism wrestling ability.
Patrick is young, and even through his brief tour of the independent wrestling circuit post-Tough Enough, he has managed to create buzz. Best of all, the kid can cut a mean promo. My money's on Patrick.
