Daniel Fells Injury Update: Giants TE Released from Hospital
New York Giants tight end Daniel Fells was released from the hospital Tuesday after overcoming a MRSA infection that nearly cost him a foot, per ESPN's Dan Graziano.
This isn't the end of Fells' medical ordeal, however. In an interview with ESPN.com's Lisa Salters on Monday, Fells' agent, Ron Slavin, said his client has two more procedures ahead, the goals of which will be preventing a recurrence of the infection and repairing the areas of Fells' foot affected by the infection.
Still, being released from the hospital is a major step in the right direction for Fells. NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported Oct. 11 that the amputation of Fells' infected foot was a distinct possibility, an outcome Fells looks to have dodged.

On Wednesday, Fells shared a video of his return home to his family on Instagram:
Rapoport provided a rough timeline of the situation, outlining how the 32-year-old continued to suffer pain in his toe and ankle despite receiving a cortisone shot in late September. Eventually, Fells' wife took him to a local hospital on Oct. 2, and that was when doctors first diagnosed the staph infection.
The Giants placed Fells on injured reserve earlier this month, and the damage to his foot is such that he may never play another NFL game.
