WWE Hell in a Cell 2015: Power Ranking Bouts Most Likely to Steal the Show

Aaron BowerOct 20, 2015

With seven matches scheduled for the main show at Hell in a Cell on Sunday, WWE has plenty of opportunities to ensure a successful show on Sunday.

Having two matches inside the cell increases the excitement and anticipation for the event, and there are other matches across the card to interest fans.

John Cena's U.S title match against an opponent yet to be decided makes for an intriguing battle, while other matches are also likely to captivate.

But which are more likely to be the best matches of the night at Hell in a Cell? Here's a power ranking of all seven matches regarding how likely they are to steal the show.

7. Charlotte vs. Nikki Bella

1 of 7

Sadly for fans of the Divas division, there's a good chance that the most underwhelming match of the night will be Charlotte's defense of her WWE Divas Championship against Nikki Bella.

The whole Divas Revolution angle has failed to resonate in recent weeks, and with Nikki once again in the title picture, there's little in the offing to suggest that will change at Hell in a Cell.

Unless WWE pulls off a surprise by having Paige turn on Charlotte during the match, there's little of interest in here. Charlotte will likely retain, and from there the WWE needs to step up plans for the division and the title.

Unfortunately, this bout will almost certainly have no chance of stealing the show or captivating the attention of WWE fans.

6. Kevin Owens vs. Ryback

2 of 7

Sadly, it shouldn't be like this for Kevin Owens during his first reign as intercontinental champion. He clearly has a big future in WWE, but his first major championship reign has failed to get off the ground so far.

Perhaps that might be because his feud with Ryback has never really got going, and you can expect Hell in a Cell to present the final meeting of those two for some time.

Owens needs a fresh challenger—a babyface who can command the kind of interest that Owens can as a villainous heel.

Ryback isn't that guy, and it's time for this rivalry to end.

Despite both men being solid inside the ring, don't expect this one to come close to stealing the show on Sunday.

5. The New Day vs. The Dudley Boyz

3 of 7

We're starting to get to the matches that will command plenty of interest, starting with the tag title bout between The New Day and The Dudley Boyz.

Such has been the momentum of Xavier Woods, Big E and Kofi Kingston over the last few weeks that every match and segment they're involved with is hugely exciting.

They command such an interest at the moment that putting them in a bout for the titles against one of the most famous tag teams in wrestling history is bound to be a potential show-stealer.

So why doesn't it rank higher? Well, the Hell in a Cell card is stacked with interesting matches, and the two teams' lack of recent interaction may have hurt this bout's build a little.

The New Day seemed destined to be heading toward the top of the tree in WWE, and perhaps they may even leave the tag division behind.

But if this is to be the team's last fight with the titles, you can bet it'll be a thriller.

4. Roman Reigns vs. Bray Wyatt

4 of 7

This is the first of two Hell in a Cell matches scheduled for this weekend.

Roman Reigns and Bray Wyatt's rivalry has limped along on occasions, but the ending to their feud on Sunday will surely have an explosive conclusion.

So long as WWE keeps Dean Ambrose and Luke Harper away from the bout, watching Reigns and Wyatt settle their differences one-on-one should be fantastic.

Their prior clashes, such as last month when they closed Raw with a fierce battle that spilled outside of the ring, suggest it could be a spectacular ending to their rivalry.

The intensity has started to step up as Hell in a Cell approaches: if this match delivers, it could be one of the best of the entire night.

3. John Cena's Open Challenge

5 of 7

So, the go-home edition of Raw confirmed there'll be no Dolph Ziggler vs. John Cena U.S title match at Hell in a Cell.

Ziggler will instead be on the pre-show, with Cena holding one of his traditional open challenges on the night.

Why does this match sit so highly then, given we don't even know who the opponent is? That's exactly the reason.

There's an element of intrigue alone from the fact it could be a surprise return or someone fans don't even expect to answer the call and take on Cena.

And based on Cena's recent matches for the title, it could be a sensational bout no matter what.

2. Seth Rollins vs. Kane

6 of 7

We've reached the top two bouts now, and unsurprisingly, they're the two matches that command the most interest going into Hell in a Cell.

Seth Rollins' performances inside the ring always have the potential to steal the show, and the fact he's in a different sort of rivalry this weekend makes things interesting too.

Rollins had been taking on other high-profile stars such as Brock Lesnar and Dean Ambrose in the last few months, but his feud with Kane offers a different take on the WWE World Heavyweight Championship altogether.

Can Kane do the unthinkable and win the title? Guys such as Brock Lesnar and John Cena always seemed like more realistic winners of the belt, so Kane's getting a victory on Sunday would definitely steal the show.

And of course, the big plus for this match's hype and ultimate outcome is there could be a twist involving The Authority somehow.

1. Brock Lesnar vs. Undertaker

7 of 7

It probably comes as little surprise to WWE fans that the match that is most likely to steal the show on Sunday is the one with the two biggest names.

After the controversial ending to their meeting at SummerSlam, WWE surely has another surprise up its sleeve when it comes to the third and final meeting between Brock Lesnar and The Undertaker on Sunday.

The fact it's inside the cell means it will be brutal and physical, which immediately makes it one of the most intriguing bouts of the night.

Lesnar's personal mission to get revenge for that loss to Taker a few months ago also adds another interesting subplot, setting things up nicely for the third meeting on Sunday.

All in all, with the big names, the hype and the intensity surrounding the fight, this is the match that seems certain to steal the show.
