Beason's Concussion Latest Ailment in Long History of Injuries
Injuries have been a major trend in the 30-year-old's career. He has failed to play a full season since 2010. Since then, he has missed a total of 56 regular-season games, which equates to 70 percent of his team's games during that stretch.
A knee injury slowed Beason earlier in the year, and he didn't make his first appearance until Week 3.
'I've found more motivation, more drive, more reason to do something because of naysayers who say 'I will not do them,'" said Beason in August of the critics who have called him "injury-prone," per Bleacher Report's Patricia Traina. "Not that it’s been easy—but it's been easy to push myself and always stay the course and continue to strive to be healthy. And then, getting healthy, I know that I can be the player that I want to be."
Given how much time he has missed in the past, losing Beason isn't an unfamiliar situation for the Giants. Uani Unga filled in at inside linebacker in his absence, and the chances he assumes the starting role again next week look good in the event Beason is unable to pass the necessary protocols this coming week.
