WWE Raw: Potential Spoilers, Rumors, News and Preview for October 5

Ryan DilbertOct 5, 2015

WWE Raw gets a potential ratings savior in the form of Brock Lesnar.

With WWE's premier show struggling to pull in viewers, Lesnar's Go to Hell Tour now has an additional stop. The Beast Incarnate heads to Boston just days after felling a giant in Madison Square Garden.

Raw's focus now shifts from promoting the MSG live event to selling fans on the collisions set for Hell in a Cell.

Boston's TD Garden will play host as Kane continues to haunt Seth Rollins, Bray Wyatt and Roman Reigns build on their bad blood and the Lesnar-Undertaker bout finally gets some attention from WWE Creative.

That upcoming main event has yet to have the advantage of an advancing storyline. That is sure to change soon with The Beast Incarnate ready to bring chaos to Boston.

A backstage report, word of an injury and James Wortman's five-point preview on WWE.com provide a look into the crystal ball, offering a peek of what's to come on Monday night.

News, Potential Spoilers

Expect WWE to hit the audience with the unexpected. The status quo is clearly not working, and Vince McMahon is reportedly pushing the writers to turn things around.

According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter (h/t Wrestling Inc's Marc Middleton), McMahon reportedly put "enormous pressure" on the writing team after a record-low rating on Sept. 21. One can only imagine that worsened after last week.

The Sept. 28 show did even worse. As ProWrestling.net noted, Raw fell from a 2.47 rating to 2.33.

With an angry McMahon backstage and a writing team on the hot seat, fans should count on some surprises and bold moves on Monday night.

The one certain response to lagging ratings is that WWE has added Lesnar to the lineup. The company announced (h/t PWInsider's Mike Johnson) the addition of the powerhouse to Monday's show.

Wyatt is sure to be there as well, but not at 100 percent. If he competes on Monday's Raw, he will do so well-bandaged. A battle in Bangor, Maine, over the weekend left him bloodied.

Dave Meltzer reported on F4WOnline, "Wyatt suffered a bad hand cut and a head cut in his WWE house show match Saturday night with Roman Reigns." Meltzer noted that the match paused to allow the trainer to tape up Wyatt's hand before the action resumed. Doctors looked Wyatt over afterward.

Sports journalist Jon Alba offered additional details via Twitter:

It sounds like if Wyatt is needed, he can certainly suit up and compete. Still, WWE will likely decide to take it easy with The Eater of Worlds, as to not risk reopening either cut.

A host of familiar names will join Wyatt in Boston. As James Caldwell noted for Pro Wrestling Torch, the list of advertised talent includes "Dean Ambrose, Roman Reigns, Randy Orton, The Wyatts, Sheamus, WWE tag champions New Day, and the Dudleys."

On to Hell in a Cell

On Saturday night, The Dudley Boyz came up short in their quest to become tag team champs again. The New Day escaped by disqualification, just as they did at Night of Champions.

In his five-point preview, Wortman asked, "How will The Dudley Boyz respond now that they have been denied the titles not once, but twice?" Bubba Ray and D-Von Dudley are sure to be unhappy, and one would expect their response to be a violent one.

The logical next step is for WWE to book a third clash between the teams for Hell in a Cell. For the babyfaces to avoid the same failure-by-DQ fate, the company making it a tables match is a strong possibility.

Who will be in the Divas title bout is less clear.

After Night of Champions, one would have guessed a Nikki Bella-Charlotte rematch was in order. After Paige's recent issues with her stablemate, it looked as if she would join the fray. WWE, though, doesn't appear to be done adding elements.

The five-point preview teased that Team B.A.D. is set to become more involved. Wortman wrote, "As the Divas division continues to implode, will Team B.A.D. continue to capitalize on the chaos this week?"

Add the fact that Sasha Banks forced Nikki to tap out on last week's SmackDown, and the chances for a Fatal 4-Way at Hell in a Cell are looking mighty strong.

Rollins vs. Kane isn't official, but that's clearly the direction WWE is heading. The Director of Operations keeps tormenting the world champ, and has made a recent habit of picking up the WWE title and admiring it as Rollins retreats.

The last few weeks have seen Kane develop a split personality, being both a corporate goon and a masked predator.

Does WWE scale back on this, though, as a way to shake things up? Kane's pursuit of Rollins hasn't exactly earned Raw stellar numbers.

The two men who were the best part of last week's show may instead get more air time. Reigns and Wyatt's brawl to end Raw last week was the kind of electric, eye-catching action that Raw is in need of right now.

WWE needs to capitalize on that momentum. Don't bet on another brawl like that, but the two enemies are sure to be journeying toward Hell in a Cell with the cameras pointed at them. Wortman asked, "How are Reigns and Wyatt preparing for their career-threatening, and perhaps final, showdown?"

That seems to point to each man garnering momentum separate of the other. With Wyatt in bandages, it may be Reigns who does more of that come Monday.

And fans know for sure they are getting plenty of The Beast Incarnate. He has a clash with Undertaker on the horizon, one he may be getting ready for by causing destruction.

Wortman wrote, "Will Lesnar follow up his impressive victory over The World's Largest Athlete with another impactful message for The Deadman?"

If Undertaker isn't around, count on Lesnar sending that message by way of tearing someone else apart. On Saturday, that role went to Big Show, who took a rough trip to Suplex City. WWE has to hope that the hunter going after a new victim will draw up more interest in Raw, pushing the show's numbers back in the right direction.
