Flowers Active for Week 5

Monday, Oct. 12

The Chargers listed Flowers as active to play against the Pittsburgh Steelers for tonight's game.

Latest on Flowers' Practice Status Ahead of Week 5

Saturday, Oct. 10

The Chargers announced Flowers was a full participant in practice for the third consecutive day.

Flowers Concussion Created CB Depth Issues

The San Diego Chargers were left with two backup cornerbacks for the stretch run of Week 4 in Steve Williams and Patrick Robinson, with Flowers out and Jason Verrett nursing an injury that he still seems to be dealing with. The loss of one player at that position is worrisome in the pass-happy NFL, but the Chargers could have problems with two guys out.

Flowers and Verrett could both wind up playing in Week 5, but if they don't, the Chargers will once again rely on backup players to provide steady play in the secondary.

The Chargers have playoff aspirations in the AFC, but they will face an uphill battle in the secondary against the likes of Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown and Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers in the next two games until the corners return to health.
