WWE Live from MSG Results 2015: Winners, Grades and Reaction from New York Event
Madison Square Garden was the setting for Saturday night's WWE Network special, a show headlined by Brock Lesnar and Big Show's first meeting inside the hallowed halls of The World's Most Famous Arena in 13 years.
The giant would not fare quite as well as he did that night in 2002, suffering a staggering five suplexes and two F-5s en route to a crushing defeat.
Lesnar, meanwhile, sent a message to The Undertaker that he is more than prepared for October 25's Hell in a Cell pay-per-view event.
Elsewhere on the card, John Cena and Seth Rollins renewed their rivalry inside a steel cage, battling for the former's United States Championship.
With one eye on Cena and the other looking over his shoulder for Kane, who made his presence felt late in the bout, The Architect was unable to recapture the title he lost back at Night of Champions.
Seven matches unfolded in front of the WWE Universe, including intercontinental and tag title bouts as the company produced what was essentially a glorified house show for fans watching via the revolutionary streaming network.
Anyone looking for the quality of the Beast in the East show that WWE presented in July was certainly disappointed.
For everyone else, it was a night of solid wrestling that entertained and never overstayed its welcome.

Randy Orton and Dolph Ziggler vs. Sheamus and Rusev
1 of 7Two of WWE's biggest midcard programs collided Saturday night to kick off the WWE Network broadcast as Randy Orton teamed with Dolph Ziggler to face Sheamus and Rusev.
The babyfaces got things off to a hot start, with The Viper dodging a Brogue Kick attempt by The Celtic Warrior and delivering the RKO for the pinfall victory at just around nine minutes.
After the match, a frustrated Rusev called his partner useless, berating and degrading the Money in the Bank contract holder.
As he attempted to address Lana, The Bulgarian Brute found himself on the receiving end of a Brogue Kick to end the segment.
Result
Randy Orton and Dolph Ziggler defeated Rusev and Sheamus.

Analysis
There was no better way to kick off this show than with two guys as popular as Orton and Ziggler. They got the crowd invested right out of the gate and delivered an energetic match in the process.
The post-match interaction was a great play on the Rusev character, who has proved verbally abusive in recent months. On Saturday, he ran his mouth to one man who certainly was not going to take it.
Neville vs. Stardust
2 of 7The rivalry straight out of DC Comics continued Saturday night as Neville and Stardust battled inside Madison Square Garden.
The WWE Universe frustrated the cosmic villain early, using chants of "Cody" to get in his head. He shrugged it off, though, taking The Man That Gravity Forgot down and keeping him grounded. The resident superhero fought his way back into the match, using his air game to create space between him and his rival.
Stardust's attempt to use Neville's cape as a taunt of sorts backfired, which led to a superkick and the Red Arrow for the victory.
Result
Neville defeated Stardust,

Analysis
Neville is at his best when he can electrify the audience with his high-flying offense. A stunning springboard moonsault to the arena floor and the Red Arrow accomplished that. Stardust controlled the match, and his bizarre antics late fit the character to a T.
The feud feels very much like it has run its course, though, and it may be time to split these two talented competitors away from each other and let them do other things.
6-Diva Tag Team Match: Team PCB vs. Team Bella
3 of 7
Team PCB entered the arena individually, suggesting that the dissension between Paige and her teammates is in danger of affecting the unity of the entire trio.
That dissension proved costly.
Despite a late-match explosion by Charlotte, Paige tagged herself into the bout. After finding herself on the receiving end of a beatdown by Team Bella, the Anti-Diva reached out to her partners...but neither was willing to help.
Instead, they hopped off the apron and watched as Nikki Bella picked up the victory following the Rack Attack.
Paige claimed that she was not sure she could forgive her "friends," despite their doing to her what she had done to them just days earlier on Raw.
Result
Team Bella defeated Team PCB.

B-
Analysis
As a match, this was nothing more special than what fans have witnessed countless times on Raw or SmackDown. As an angle, though, it was well done, with Paige getting her comeuppance after abandoning her partners Monday night.
Of course, as the old saying goes, hell hath no fury like a woman scorned, and now, Charlotte and Becky Lynch may find out what happens now that they have made an enemy of Paige.
The pop for Team Bella was concerning, especially given the fact that they are supposed to be the heels in this story. Given that they are regularly positioned as the stars of the Divas division, what with the huge merchandise line and the starring roles on Total Divas, that should be expected.
Intercontinental Title Match: Chris Jericho vs. Kevin Owens
4 of 7Chris Jericho marked his 25th anniversary in the wrestling industry with a shot at Kevin Owens' intercontinental title. With longtime friends seated at ringside and thousands of fans supporting his quest for gold, he turned in a strong performance the likes of which fans have come to expect from him over the last two decades.
It was almost enough.
Jericho had trapped Owens in the Walls of Jericho previously and, after countering a powerbomb attempt, tried to lock in the hold one more time.
Unfortunately for him, Owens poked him in the eye and grabbed hold of a small package rollup for the tainted pinfall victory.
Result
Kevin Owens defeated Chris Jericho.
Grade
B
Analysis
Jericho and Owens worked a really strong match, despite time constraints. The action was nonstop, with no opportunities to take the crowd out of the bout with any useless rest holds.
Owens remains an opportunist, someone who is willing to take score a win by any means necessary. From a character standpoint, that makes him dangerous.
Though it had no impact on any ongoing stories, the crowd was engaged in the contest and the competitors, thus helping elevate the bout in terms of overall quality.
WWE Tag Team Championship Match: The Dudley Boyz vs. The New Day
5 of 7
"For shame!" The New Day chastised Bubba Ray and D-Von Dudley on their actions since returning to WWE on the night after SummerSlam.
The celebrated tag team had the opportunity to respond by delivering a 3D and capturing the WWE Tag Team Championships for reign No. 10.
Unfortunately, the numbers game was not in the favor of the champions.
Late in the match, The Dudley Boyz delivered the 3D to Kofi Kingston, which forced Xavier Woods to interfere and break up the pinfall attempt.
The result was a disqualification, but Bubba and D-Von sent fans home somewhat satisfied, putting the trombone-playing annoyance through a table to a thunderous ovation.
Result
The Dudley Boyz defeated The New Day via disqualification.
Grade
C-
Analysis
The New Day and the Dudley Boyz have yet to demonstrate that chemistry that leads to truly great matches. Thankfully, there is still plenty of opportunity for that to rear itself.
This graded as low as it did because it was essentially a replay of what occurred at Night of Champions, complete with Woods interfering for the DQ and then being put through the table.
WWE Creative has to be better than that. They cannot ask fans to take time to tune into a special, especially when this match was one of the most hyped of the night, and deliver a mirror image of what the teams did on pay-per-view a few weeks earlier.
Brock Lesnar vs. Big Show
6 of 7It had been 13 years since Big Show defeated Brock Lesnar inside Madison Square Garden at the 2002 Survivor Series. Determined to prove his dominance in the industry, he squared off with The Conqueror in the marquee match of Saturday's live event special.
He failed and took an unwanted trip to Suplex City.
The Beast Incarnate withstood three straight Chokeslams to deliver four German suplexes and the F-5 for the pinfall victory.
Lesnar returned to the squared circle after the match, delivered a massive belly-to-belly overhead suplex and a second F-5.
Result
Brock Lesnar defeated Big Show.
Grade
B
Analysis
Given the brevity of the match, this writer cannot in good conscious grade this any higher. With that said, this was exactly what it needed to be. Lesnar rose from three of his opponent's finishing moves to unleash hell and destroy Big Show.
It was a fantastic bit of booking that gave the fans what they wanted and delivered on the destruction that any Lesnar match promises.
Steel Cage Match for the U.S. Title: John Cena vs. Seth Rollins
7 of 7
John Cena and Seth Rollins renewed their rivalry inside a steel cage, with Cena's United States Championship on the line as Jon Stewart watched from ringside—and his involvement in their SummerSlam bout fresh on the minds of the WWE Universe.
Champion and challenger waged war in a fantastic match, using dramatic escape attempts to keep fans enthralled.
Late in the bout, Rollins delivered a low blow and climbed to the top of the cage. Suddenly, Kane's music played, and The Demon stalked toward the squared circle. Rollins, desperate to escape his approaching predator, dove off the top of the cage with a Frog Splash, missing his opponent and crashing to the mat below.
Cena scored the pinfall victory, and Kane joined Rollins inside the squared circle moments later.
A big chokeslam and Tombstone Piledriver made The Architect's night that much worse and sent the fans home happy.
Result
John Cena defeated Seth Rollins.
Grade
A
Analysis
The main event of this show saved it. It was not simply a good match, though—it was another fantastic example of the in-ring chemistry that exists between Cena and Rollins. The sequencing was phenomenal, and the fans were on the edge of their seats for the escape attempts, despite the outcome being obvious.
Kane's arrival was fine, even if it would have been nice to see a definitive conclusion to the near masterpiece that had unfolded to that point.
