Wyndham Clark Beats Rory McIlroy to Win 2026 BMW Championship, Final Leaderboard and Highlights
Wyndham Clark is a three-time winner on the PGA Tour this year.
Clark outlasted Rory McIlroy and the rest of the field at the 2026 BMW Championship despite shooting just even par in Sunday's final round. He created enough of a lead through the first three days at Bellerive Country Club in St. Louis, Missouri, to remain atop the leaderboard and add to a season resume that also includes wins at the U.S. Open and the CJ CUP Byron Nelson.
He also played his best golf when it mattered most and captured the $3.6 million prize with birdies on the final three holes.

LIV golfer fires back at Rory McIlroy
While it was McIlroy who battled with Clark for most of the round, Patrick Cantlay birdied the final three holes to finish in second on the leaderboard.
| Golfer | Score |
| Wyndham Clark | -17 |
| Patrick Cantlay | -14 |
| Rory McIlroy | -13 |
| Gary Woodland | -12 |
| Collin Morikawa | -12 |
| Chris Gotterup | -12 |
It seemed like Clark was going to cruise to a victory considering he entered Sunday's final round at 17-under and five strokes ahead of McIlroy and Cantlay. Gary Woodland and Chris Gotterup also trailed by six, as Clark created plenty of separation.
Yet that separation all but disappeared in the early going when the three-round leader shot two-over through the first seven. That opened the door for his playing partner in McIlroy, but the six-time major champion was one-over through those same seven holes as he struggled with the driver.
Instead, it was Woodland who pulled within a single stroke until he shockingly hit the top of the ball on his tee shot on the ninth and essentially grounded it into the creek. He ended up with a double-bogey and saw his early momentum come to a screeching halt, which was surely disappointing since he was one of the contenders who actually played well out of the gate.
Consistency was the initial issue for another challenger in Cantlay, who had moments of brilliance with five birdies in the first 10 holes. Yet he also had three bogies during that stretch and then posted a double-bogey on the 11th after hitting his ball into the water.
Even his late charge wasn't enough to truly threaten after the mistakes.
At some point, someone was going to build momentum amid all the struggles.
And that someone was McIlroy, who bounced back from his early issues and tallied birdies on Nos. 8, 9 and 11 to tie Clark atop the leaderboard. While Gotterup, Woodland, Cantlay and Collin Morikawa remained within striking distance, the flurry made it a two-man race for the title.
The pair traded pars down the stretch and kept the door slightly ajar, and it was Morikawa who made a push with an eagle on No. 17. Still, even that left him two behind when Clark delivered his first birdie of the day in clutch fashion on the 16th to take the lead over McIlroy.
That birdie was the first truly positive development for Clark throughout the afternoon, and the second came when McIlroy found multiple bunkers on his way to a bogey on the par-five 17th.
Clark didn't just sit back either, as he notched a birdie on the same hole to all but clinch the victory.
Next up is the highly coveted TOUR Championship at East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta with a $40 million overall purse and $10 million going to the winner. Clark will have plenty of momentum heading into the tournament thanks to his clutch finish Sunday.
