Bashaud Breeland Suspended 1 Game for Marijuana Possession
Washington cornerback Bashaud Breeland will serve a one-game suspension for his 2014 arrest for marijuana possession.
NFL Network's Albert Breer reported the news. Virginia Commonwealth University police cited Breeland, 23, with marijuana possession last August during training camp.

Jaguars' Hypothetical Alvin Kamara Trade Offer
“I addressed it with him,” coach Jay Gruden told reporters last year. “We’ll keep the conversation between us. But he’s well aware of what he has to do to get it fixed. We just have to move forward. And hopefully he learns from a terrible mistake.”
A fourth-round pick out of Clemson, Breeland played his entire rookie season without incident. He made 67 tackles, forced two fumbles and picked off a pair of passes, starting in all but one contest.
Still, Breeland's performance overall was anything but exemplary. Pro Football Focus' grading system ranked him 99th among 108 qualifying cornerbacks, with his propensity for penalties ranking as by far the worst in football. Officials flagged him for 12 penalties during the regular season, nine of which came in coverage. Breeland's struggles to break out was among the many reasons Washington wound up with the worst pass defense DVOA in football, per Football Outsiders.
Expected to make a leap in 2015, Breeland is slotted to start opposite Chris Culliver in the Washington secondary. DeAngelo Hall, the mainstay of the group, will likely move into the Week 1 lineup against Miami. Washington's secondary remains a major area of concern heading into this season, so losing Breeland—even if it's only for one week—isn't going to be helpful getting the team off to a good start.
