4 Manchester United Players Who Should Be Loaned out in 2015/16 Season

Paul AnsorgeJul 4, 2015

Pre-season is on the horizon, and Manchester United fans are preoccupied with whom the club will or will not bring in during the summer transfer window.

It seems like a good time to take a break from the all the speculation about potential incomings in order to look at which members of United's squad would benefit from spending a season out of the glare of the Old Trafford floodlights.

These four youngsters could all profit from the chance to play more football than they are likely to get under Louis van Gaal in the season ahead.

James Wilson

1 of 4

This talented young man has scored goals at a prolific rate throughout his time in the academy system. James Wilson has had a taste of first-team football at United too and generally not looked overawed by the big stage.

However, with Van Gaal likely to play one centre-forward next season, Wilson's game time will be limited, especially if another striker is brought in during the transfer window. He may end up being needed as cover for Wayne Rooney, but if there are other options to provide that, Wilson could do with a season at an attack-minded, possession-oriented Premier League side.

Cameo appearances for the first team and lots of reserve-level football will probably no longer be enough to further his development.

Adnan Januzaj

On B/R, it has previously been written why Adnan Januzaj would benefit from a loan. For Januzaj, it is even more crucial that he gets extended first-team football at a good level next season than it is for Wilson. Another season on the bench would be a detriment to his development.

It is also easy to imagine it causing a good deal of frustration for the youngster in terms of his relationship with the club. Given his evident potential, keeping Januzaj happy is important. A loan could be the best way to do that.

Andreas Pereira

3 of 4

Prodigiously talented young Brazilian Andreas Pereira, who starred at this summer's U-20 World Cup, is another player who could do with some first-team action.

At just 19, he might be okay to stick around and learn from Van Gaal for a while, but even so, reserve-team football is running out of things to teach Pereira.

Like Januzaj, he plies his trade in an area of the pitch where United are well stocked with options, so breaking through to the first team will be a real challenge. Thus, a spell away from the club could be the best move for all concerned.

Ben Pearson

4 of 4

Ben Pearson did a fine job during his time on loan at League One side Barnsley last season. Pearson is 20 now, and another loan spell—this time at a higher level—would suit him well.

Whether he possesses the natural talent to make it at United is up for debate, but this hard-working and determined young man certainly has a good career in the game ahead of him. It would be a punt for a Premier League team to take a chance on him, but he certainly looks ready for Championship level football.

Having proved himself in League One, the physicality of the Championship should not be too much for him, especially given his combative playing style.
