Giants Opening Day 2015: TV Schedule, Live Stream and Predictions
Defending World Series champions. It's a title the San Francisco Giants are familiar with on odd years. Repeating that success has typically been the issue.
On Monday, the Giants will look to finally start working their way toward matching their performance from 2014. Facing the Arizona Diamondbacks with a fresh new ring on the finger, San Francisco has a great chance to start the season the same way it ended last year—with a win.
Madison Bumgarner will of course toe the rubber for the Giants. After a brilliant postseason that won him the World Series MVP—and a truck with "technology and stuff"—MadBum is set to dominate again this season. Facing off with Josh Collmenter, Bumgarner should keep the winning streak alive.

Prediction

The Giants may be the defending World Series champions, but are they even the top team in the National League West this year? That's exactly what San Francisco will be attempting to prove during the regular season.
With the Los Angeles Dodgers retooling and the San Diego Padres spending an exorbitant amount of money to compete, the Giants still have one of the steadiest rosters in the West.
That depth chart is headed by Bumgarner, who has massive expectations this season. The 25-year-old pitcher spoke about what he hopes to accomplish this year, via Henry Schulman of the San Francisco Chronicle.
"No matter what anybody expects of me, it’s not going to be as much as I expect of me," he said. "You strive for perfection. Maybe it’s unrealistic in this game, but if you’re not working for that, you’re probably going backwards."
The lineup for San Francisco is not one of the most explosive in the National League, but it still has a superstar in the middle.
Buster Posey hit 22 homers with 89 RBI for the Giants last season with a 5.2 WAR (per ESPN.com). His leadership behind the plate has been evident over the last five years, producing three World Series rings. That production hasn't dipped recently in the spring, via the Giants' official account:
Facing an Arizona lineup with only two truly lethal bats in Paul Goldschmidt and Mark Trumbo, Bumgarner will put together another stellar start. If the offense can get going against Collmenter, Monday will serve as notice to the entire NL West that the Giants are ready to compete for another title.
Prediction: Giants 8, Diamondbacks 3
