Wenger Reveals Wilshere Timeline for Arsenal Return
Thursday, Oct. 15
Wilshere "is still at least one month away" from returning to the Arsenal first team, boss Arsene Wenger confirmed, per James Olley of the London Evening Standard.
The Gunners are taking their time with the midfielder's recovery, having announced on Sept. 15 he would undergo a "slow healing response from a fracture suffered in August."
Wilshere Injury Adds to Catalogue of Frustrating Setbacks
Unfortunately, injuries have been a major part of the story of Wilshere's career so far. He has only made it through one term (2010-11) without battling any notable ailments, per Transfermarkt.
Last season, he dealt with a minor knee issue before suffering a more serious ankle injury in November, which kept him sidelined for several months.
Arsenal have plenty of cover in his absence. Santi Cazorla and Francis Coquelin have built a strong midfield partnership, while Aaron Ramsey is also effective from a central position.
