Donovan Mitchell's pitch to LeBron James is pretty simple—come back home.

The Cleveland Cavaliers star said as much on social media Thursday:

The Cavs are believed to be one of the favorites to sign him along with the Miami Heat and Philadelphia 76ers:

If James does return to Ohio it would be his third stint with the Cavs after he was drafted by the team and spent his first seven seasons in Cleveland. After four years in Miami he returned to the Cavs in the 2014-15 campaign and ultimately led them to a title one season later.

He spent the last eight years with the Los Angeles Lakers before entering free agency this summer, and now the entire NBA awaits his decision on where he'll play next.

It's a testament to James' talent and legacy that, even at the age of 41, he can still put the entire NBA offseason in stasis while he makes his decision.

As for the Cavs, it wouldn't be a perfect fit. James, Mitchell and James Harden is a trio of players who prefer to operate with the ball in their hands, and having a pair of bigs in Evan Mobley and Jarrett Allen means a starting lineup without much shooting or floor spacing.

But perhaps if James was willing to commit to the Cavs other trades might follow. For the time being, the entire NBA world waits on LeBron's decision.
