CIMB Asia Pacific Classic 2014: Tee Times, Dates, TV Schedule and Prize Money
Kuala Lumpur Golf and Country Club in Malaysia will host the CIMB Asia Pacific Classic for the second consecutive year. The tournament boasts a very strong field of 78 golfers vying for season earnings and coveted Ryder Cup points.
Effendy Shahul Hamid of CIMB Group, had this to say about the upcoming tournament, perย CIMBClassic.com:
"Five years on, the CIMB Classic has matured into a staple event in the global golf calendar. We're happy with the tournamentโs sustainable appeal and the depth and diversity of this yearโs field.ย This is wonderful news for Malaysia and speaks volumes about the country's ability to stage world class sporting events. We now look forward to a great tournament at the end of the month.
"
Every player involved will have a great chance to put together his best possible 72 holes of golf, as this tournament doesn't feature a cut. That won't be overly easy for all members of the field, as this par 72 may only be 6,985 yards, but it played tough last year when eventual winner Ryan Moore finished with a total score of 274.
Moore returns this year as defending champion, but he will have his hands full with the likes of Sergio Garcia, Patrick Reed, Ricky Barnes and other talented players.
As we await the field to take to Kuala Lumpur for the fourth tournament on the 2014-15 schedule, let's take a look at all of the event's pertinent viewing information and a marquee group to keep your eye on.

Marquee Group
Patrick Reed, Sergio Garcia and Lee Westwood

This is about as star-studded of a group as you'll see at this time of year. All three of these competitors took part in the 2014 Ryder Cup, and all came away with strong performances.
Reed enters the tournament ranked No. 25 in the world, and this will mark his first start of the new season following a T5 showing at the Volvo World Match Play Championship earlier in October. The last stroke-play tournament Reed participated in was the Tour Championship in mid-September; he finished T19.
The 24-year-old phenom ruffled some feathers last season after claiming he's one of the world's top-five golfers, but a tweet fromย Golf Digestย explains why that attitude should be welcomed:
If Reed is to truly move up in the rankings to earn that top-five spot, he'll have to go through Garcia, the world's No. 4 player. Like Reed, Garcia hasn't played in a stroke-play event since the Tour Championship, where he finished T9.
Last year, Garcia finished T11 at the CIMB Classic, but he enters this year playing some of the best golf of his career. In just 19 events played in 2014, Garcia only missed one cut while earning one win at the Commercial Bank Qatar Masters along with three runner-up finishes, two thirds and four top 10s.
Now, at his highest world ranking since 2008, Garcia's next stop is a major victory.ย Morning Driveย tweeted the ongoing question regarding the Spaniard:
Westwood enters as the veteran of the ground at 41 years of age. He's been a steady player throughout his entire career, but like Garcia, he does not have any major titles to his name.
He enters the tournament ranked No. 46 in the world, but he is coming off a very strong finish at the Frys.com Open, placing T12 thanks to a great closing round of 67. Westwood doesn't light it up off the tee like some younger players, but his consistency always keeps him hanging around.
All three of these players have an excellent chance to come away with a win in Malaysia. This is most certainly a group you're going to want to keep a keen eye on.
