Radamel Falcao's Great-Grandfather Was a Yorkshireman Named George King
A new article has revealed that Radamel Falcao's great-grandfather was from Yorkshire and that the Manchester United striker even once applied for a British passport.
The Daily Mail reports that a man named George King moved to Colombia with his wife in 1932. After his wife's death, he then fell for a local woman named Juliana.
King had five children with his Colombian wife, one of whom is Falcao's grandmother, Denis.

Falcao is even quoted in the newspaper as saying: "I’m proud of my English blood."
According to the story, Falcao applied for British citizenship when he was a player at River Plate because he thought it would help facilitate a move to Europe, but the application was rejected as great-grandfather George was a little too far removed from the striker.
Tragically, it turns out there was a sad end for Falcao's English relative. The Mail talked to his now 80-year-old grandmother and learned more about her father.
"Unlike his great-grandson, King, she says, showed no interest in football, but was a keen golfer who used to play at the United Fruit Company facilities.
In 1960 the Frutera Sevilla subsidiary was liquidised and King was responsible for organising the financial arrangements in winding the company down.
‘They gave him the money to sort out, but as he was leaving he was murdered by people who stole the money,’ recalls Denis. It was a tragic end to the Yorkshireman’s 28 years in South America.
"
Falcao is currently on loan at Manchester United from Monaco, with some reports suggesting the deal has already been made permeant behind the scenes.
