Frank Gore's, Carlos Hyde's Instant Fantasy Reaction After Week 6
The San Francisco 49ers scored 24 unanswered points after falling behind 14-0 against the St. Louis Rams Monday night and eventually won 31-17, but it wasn’t because of the typically strong rushing attack.
In fact, Frank Gore and Carlos Hyde both failed to reach the end zone against the Rams, much to the chagrin of fantasy owners who were counting on the 49ers running backs to win them a game in dramatic fashion on the final day of Week 6.
Here is a look at their final stats:

Matt Maiocco of CSNBayArea.com pointed out one reason why Gore was unable to really get anything going Monday, while Cam Inman of Bay Area News Group described a particularly heartbreaking sequence for owners of both Gore and Hyde:
There were multiple situations, including that goal-line attempt, where Gore was on the sidelines instead of making a difference. Michael Schottey of Bleacher Report seemed to be frustrated with San Francisco's coaching in those moments:
Despite the uncharacteristically poor game, Gore is still an elite fantasy football option moving forward. Yes, he only ran for 10 yards on six carries against the Arizona Cardinals, but he has been a workhorse in recent weeks for the 49ers. He topped the 100-rushing-yard plateau against the Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs and also hauled in a 55-yard touchdown catch against the Eagles.

Considering San Francisco started 1-2 and then pulled out of their early struggles by going back to the ground game, the carries should still come for Gore (if it's not broke, don't fix it). Fantasy football is all about opportunity, and the 49ers will likely continue to ride Gore all season.
Hyde, on the other hand, has not seen the carries that Gore has this year. In fact, he only reached the double-digit mark in carries twice this season coming into Monday's game, and he had exactly 10 in both of those contests.
Hyde is incredibly talented and capable of putting up big fantasy points if given the chance, especially given his physicality in the red zone, but it is impossible to trust him as a fantasy option as long as Gore is in the San Francisco backfield.
