Tottenham Hotspur Transfer News and Rumours Tracker: Week of October 13
With the international break putting club football on ice for a few weeks, Tottenham Hotspur have had ample opportunity to assess the performance of the squad so far this season.
If media reports are anything to go by, Spurs remain desperate to bring in an additional forward.
Spurs' squad is nicely balanced in other areas and Mauricio Pochettino looks to be developing a clearer understanding of his players.
Beyond the forwards, Spurs' major concern is the continued absence of right back Kyle Walker. His injury has sidelined him for almost seven months and Kyle Naughton and Eric Dier have been forced to deputise far longer than intended. Spurs have reacted by attempting to speed up the arrival of DeAndre Yedlin from Seattle Sounders.
Yedlin would provide an alternative at right-back while also potentially playing higher up the pitch when required.

Croatian Youngster the Solution to Spurs' Striking Woes?
1 of 3
Tottenham's chief scout Ian Broomfield was among the crowd of more than 23,000 people at Molineux last Friday evening to watch England under-21s against Croatia.
England prevailed 2-1 but it was the performance of the Croatians that Broomfield was reportedly there to see.
Fiorentina striker Ante Rebic is apparently high up on Spurs' list of potential new forwards and Broomfield's presence at the match only served to highlight that reported interest.
Rebic is a young striker, often deployed on the left side of attack but is better suited to a central role. He has been prolific at youth-international level and also scored his first senior Croatia goal after just three minutes.
You may remember him as the man sent off during Croatia's 3-1 defeat to Mexico at the World Cup Finals earlier this year.
Currently on loan at RB Leipzig in the German second division, Rebic has made little impression this season and remains a player for the future. If Spurs do move for him, it is unlikely that he will come straight into the side.
Spurs to Scoop Up Ligue 1 Striker?
2 of 3
Tottenham are clearly on the lookout for a cheap striker to add depth to the weakest part of their squad. According to John Cross at the Mirror, Toulouse's Wissam Ben Yedder could be the man.
Small but explosive, Ben Yedder is an efficient goalscorer and would provide Spurs with a unique option up front.
Twice-capped by France's Futsal team, Ben Yedder embodies the sort of skills emphasised by that sport.
Tottenham acquired Etienne Capoue from Toulouse last summer so there is a relationship between the two clubs.
This seems like a realistic player for Spurs to sign, and he would significantly strengthen the club's forward options.
Yedlin Riding in to Save the Day?
3 of 3
Tottenham agreed to sign U.S. international from Seattle Sounders DeAndre Yedlin in August, but the former MLS rookie of the year wasn't due to arrive until next summer.
The continued absence of Kyle Walker due to injury may force Spurs to bring Yedlin in sooner than expected.
According to Sky Sports, the £2.5 million right-back could join Tottenham in the January transfer window if he can secure a Latvian passport. Yedlin is entitled to a Latvian passport as a result of his heritage.
If he does make the early move from the MLS, Yedlin will likely enjoy significant playing time. Even if Kyle Walker returns in November, as has been reported by the London Evening Standard (h/t Here Is The City), he will be unable to play every game.
Kyle Naughton has been quietly impressive while filling in for Walker this season, but he is unable to provide the attacking impetus required of modern full-backs. Yedlin is more effective in this capacity.
Yedlin has also played as a winger for Seattle and the U.S., and his versatility could see him deployed out wide for Spurs too.
