Wade Misses Milwaukee Game With Hamstring Injury
The Heat confirmed that Wade would miss Sunday's game against the Milwaukee Bucks:
Erik Spoelstra also commented on Wade's status:
For a Heat team that has so little margin for error after all the changes that happened this offseason, losing Wade for any length of time is going to be a significant blow to its playoff chances.
Wade's health was the key component to making everything work. He said in September, prior to the start of training camp and preseason games, that he was using a different workout regimen geared toward playing in 82 games this year, via Ira Winderman of the Miami Sun-Sentinel:
That may be the goal, but Wade's history suggests it was never an attainable one. He's never played in all 82 games in a single season. His career high for games played was 79 in 2008-09. With more mileage and tread on the tires, the odds weren't in his favor.
With this latest setback for Wade, the questions about how high the ceiling is are certain to come up again.
