Percy Harvin Injury: Updates on Seahawks Star's Thigh and Return
Just when things were looking up for Percy Harvin, the Seattle Seahawks' star receiver is questionable for Week 7 with a thigh injury:
Harvin entered the season after an injury-riddled 2013 that saw him play in just one regular-season game. The 2009 Pro Bowler had just one reception for 17 yards in his first season with the Seahawks.

Two postseason appearances for Harvin also produced four receptions for 26 yards, but a kick return touchdown in the Super Bowl gave a glimpse of the possible future. Along with his myriad ailments last year, Harvin also injured his ankle in August.
He'd managed to avoid injury thus far, and hopefully it isn't serious.
When he's on the field, Harvin can be one of the most explosive players in the league. Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports commented on the wideout's ability prior to the regular season:
The 2009 Offensive Rookie of the Year showed that dynamic play when he was with the Minnesota Vikings. In four seasons with the Vikings, Harvin had 280 receptions for 3,302 yards and 20 touchdowns, along with four rushing touchdowns and five more scores in the return game during that span.
During training camp, reserve quarterback Tarvaris Jackson noted Harvin's importance when speaking with Dave Boling of The News Tribune:
"We’re definitely going to get the ball in his hands and he’ll be a dimension to our offense people won’t believe. They’re going to be in for a good show. He goes against our secondary every day, and they’re the best in the league, and he sees that as a challenge. ...
People will see what I mean, what I’ve been talking about. He’s not just a special player ... he’s one of a kind.
"
Unfortunately, Harvin's health might keep Seahawks fans from seeing his ability yet again. If Harvin is forced to miss time, Russell Wilson and the Seattle offense could be without a huge playmaker.
The defending Super Bowl champions made it nearly all of last season without Harvin. But with Golden Tate signing with the Detroit Lions and Sidney Rice retiring, the roster would be even slimmer at receiver if Harvin is off the field.
As for who would likely take his place on the field, Jermaine Kearse and perhaps Paul Richardson could be asked to take on a bigger role.
Doug Baldwin is the Seahawks' No. 1 receiver, but another wideout would have to help carry some of the load.
