Watch Chris Andersen Throw Down a Monster Putback Dunk vs. Pacers
Chris Andersen's bid to pitch a perfect Eastern Conference Finals came to an unfortunate end in the closing seconds of the first quarter of Game 7.
The Birdman couldn't guide in a tip off of LeBron James' missed layup, giving Andersen his first missed field goal since Game 4 of Miami's second-round series with the Chicago Bulls on May 13.
Rather than sulk over the ending of his incredible run, Andersen channeled any frustration into getting himself back into the scoring column.
He didn't have to wait long to get his next chance.
On Miami's fourth possession of the second quarter, Mike Miller hoisted a three from the right wing. The shot caromed off the front of the rim, then ricocheted off the glass back over the cylinder.
Andersen raced around the bigger, slower Roy Hibbert, corralled the rebound while soaring across the basket and threw down a thunderous putback jam:
"The Birdman Chris Andersen is now 19 for his last 20 FG. The last one was with EMPHASIS.
— SportsCenter (@SportsCenter) June 4, 2013"
Andersen's put on a shooting display for the ages in this postseason (38-of-45), but he's more concerned with some other Game 7 statistical entries.
The Birdman posted a plus-11 rating in seven first-half minutes, and his Heat are enjoying a 52-37 lead over the Indiana Pacers after two quarters.
