To have a successful fantasy baseball team, the owner needs to watch the waiver wire and see which free agents can strengthen his lineup. The following players are some solid picks who will help drive up your fantasy scores as the season progresses.
Carlos Pena
The Tampa Bay Rays' first baseman has been in a slump recently, but don't be fooled by his anemic average of .208.

10 Scorching MLB Takes 🌶️

Yankees Call Up 6'7" Prospect 📈
He has the third-most RBI on the team at 22, just behind Matt Joyce's 28 and Luke Scott's 32. The past three years in the majors, he has batted in at least 82 runs and hit at least 28 homers.
Look for Pena to get into the groove of things come late June.
Addison Reed
The right-handed relief pitcher out of San Diego State has had some mixed results for the Chicago White Sox.
His performances this season have impressed manager Robin Ventura enough to officially name him the team's closer. Ventura's faith and Reed's new job will ensure a steady source of points for fantasy owners.
The Yankees left-hander has steadily improved following his major league appearance on Mother's Day, where he went 6.1 innings, allowing four earned runs.
His fastball still has some zip and his breaking pitches have been fooling batters. In three games this season, he has pitched 21 innings, struck out 19 batters, and walked four with an ERA of 2.53.
Expect him to average eight or nine strikeouts per game with a modest number of walks. He will be the ace on your fantasy team.
Daniel Nava
With injuries decimating Boston's depth in the outfield, rookie Daniel Nava has looked poised in the box. He has a career batting average of .286 and in 14 games, he's knocked in 11 runs.
Expect Nava's average to creep up a bit as the season goes on. His consistent hitting and good discipline at the plate will give fantasy owners something to cheer about.
He has shown he has good power and will most likely hit 15 homers this season. It's not much but in a tight league, he will prove to be the difference.
