Roy Hodgson: England FA Makes Terrible Decision Appointing West Brom Manager
Roy Hodgson's appointment as the new England manager is a terrible decision because there were better alternatives out there to hire, such as Harry Redknapp and Guus Hiddink.
Hodgson has signed a four-year deal with the FA, and will take over the squad at the end of West Bromwich Albion's season, which has two matches remaining.
The question surrounding Hodgson is whether he will survive four years as England manager, which is arguably the most difficult managerial position in all of football.

He has experience at big clubs before, but his most recent position with an elite club was Liverpool last season, and that ended in disaster. He was fired less than a year into his tenure at Anfield, and replaced by current manager Kenny Dalglish.
The FA needed to appoint a stronger manager who could withstand the high pressure from the media and fans to deliver immediate results, and also make strong tactical decisions to give the team the best chance to be successful.
Hiddink, who has excelled in the Premier League as manager of Chelsea and internationally with South Korea, would have been a perfect choice for England manager. He isn't English, but that shouldn't matter because results are the most important part of this job.
Redknapp, who has turned Tottenham into a top Premier League team and a top-four contender, was many people's first choice for the job. He is English and has strong tactical knowledge of the game.
When Fabio Capello resigned as manager earlier this year, Manchester United and Three Lions forward Wayne Rooney pledged his support for Redknapp.
"Gutted capello has quit. Good guy and top coach. Got to be english to replace him. Harry redknapp for me.

Redknapp knows the English game very well and has coached veteran players and future England stars such as Kyle Walker, Aaron Lennon, Jermaine Defoe and Scott Parker over the past few seasons.
Since England does not have an elite squad, they needed the best manager possible to be a contender at the European Championship in June. Hodgson will not be able to motivate these players and get the most out of them.
When France defeats the Three Lions in the first group match of the Euros, Hodgson will be under immense pressure to help England reach its full potential.
The FA will quickly realize they have made a mistake by hiring Hodgson.
