3 Struggling San Francisco Giants Who Will Turn It Around

hh bjjjnJun 6, 2018

The San Francisco Giants somehow torture their fans every week.

Giants fans are used to going crazy watching games at this point. Don't expect things to change anytime soon.

The NL West is already off to a wild start, and San Francisco is chasing their rival, the Los Angeles Dodgers, to get atop of the standings.

These players have given fans a little too much torture, but will turn it around sooner than later.

Jeremy Affeldt

Jeremy Affeldt has had an up-and-down season so far for the Giants.

Through 10 appearances, Affeldt is 0-1 with a 4.09 ERA. What has caused these numbers are rough outings against Arizona, Colorado and San Diego.

Besides those tough outings, Affeldt has been solid so far. The only alarming part of those outings are that they come against NL West opponents.

The Giants need Affeldt to be a key part of their offense, and he will show that he can be that guy for San Francisco.

Brandon Crawford

2 of 3

Brandon Crawford has had a rough time at the plate once again for the Giants in 2012.

Yes, he has had trouble hitting, but that does not mean he can't hit. Crawford was a .266 hitter in the minors and hit a solid .333 this spring.

Crawford needs to put a little magic from his glove to his bat. The Giants have made big changes to shorten his swing, and Crawford's bat is a work in progress.

If Crawford can hit close to what he did in the minors, the Giants will be very happy as he will continue to develop as a hitter.

Tim Lincecum

3 of 3

Let's be honest, Tim Lincecum has not been the pitcher the Giants expected to begin the season.

Lincecum was leaving everything up in the zone and was getting knocked all around the yard. After his first three starts, Lincecum had an atrocious 10.54 ERA.

Those numbers were truly freaky for "The Freak." Since then, Lincecum has been the pitcher we all know though.

To date, Lincecum is now 2-2 with a 5.74 ERA. The ERA may still be high, but Lincecum has now found his groove and will show it every time he toes the rubber.
