Los Angeles Lakers Interested in Dealing for Cleveland Cavaliers' Ramon Sessions
Yahoo! Sports' Adrian Wojnarowski is reporting that the Los Angeles Lakers have spoken with the Cleveland Cavaliers about possibly trading for backup point guard Ramon Sessions.
The entire article can be found here.
This would be a great trade for both teams as the Lakers would finally acquire an athletic point guard who could give them at least 30 minutes per night while the Cavaliers would receive L.A.'s $8.9 million trade exception in return.
This is a trade I've been begging the Lakers to make happen for quite some time now, as Sessions has a ton of potential when given adequate playing time.
He started the last game of the year for Cleveland in 2011 and in just under 33 minutes of playing time, he scored 27 points on 8-of-13 from the field to go along with four rebounds and three assists.
In fact, when you look at Sessions' entire game log from last season, it's easy to see that he is more than capable of producing when he plays the minutes.
A starting lineup consisting of Sessions, Kobe Bryant, a finally-rounding-into-shape Metta World Peace, Pau Gasol and Andrew Bynum could legitimately compete for an NBA Title.
With the Lakers currently on pace for a 39-27 season, the addition of Sessions would significantly increase the Lakers chances of winning 45 games and earning the No. 2 seed out West.
Stay tuned for further details.
