It is being rumored that Andrew Bogut could miss the remainder of the season due to his injury. According to Greg Matzek of 620 WTMJ, per sources Bogut will be out for the rest of the year.
According to ESPN NBA insider Marc Stein, the Bucks will be without Andrew Bogut indefinitely after the oft-injured center fractured his ankle during Wednesday's 105-99 win over the Houston Rockets:
The Australian big man had been averaging 11.3 points, 8.3 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 2.0 blocks per game for the 7-10 Bucks.
Bogut, the No. 1 overall pick out of Utah in the 2005 NBA Draft, has not played a full schedule since his rookie season. Since then, Bogut has suffered through a seemingly never-ending litany of injuries, including a sprained left foot, a dislocated right elbow, a broken right hand, a wrist sprain and now a bum ankle.
The loss of Bogut will likely leave Bucks head coach Scott Skiles to divide up the team's minutes at center between Jon Brockman, Drew Gooden and rookie Jon Leuer.
Milwaukee currently sits seven-and-a-half games back of the Chicago Bulls in the Central Division. If the season ended today, the Bucks would make the playoffs as the No. 8 seed, with a first-round battle with the Bulls on tap.
Luckily for the Bucks, there are still nearly three months of games left to be played, which the team hopes will be more than enough time for Bogut to heal up and return for the postseason.
Still, the timing is unfortunate for the Bucks, to say the least. Milwaukee is scheduled to play four of its next six games against the Bulls, the Los Angeles Lakers and the Miami Heat, with another difficult stretch against the Heat, the Bulls and the Orlando Magic coming up shortly thereafter.
