New York Giants vs. San Francisco 49ers: 5 Halftime Adjustments Niners Must Make
It has been a physical football game in San Francisco so far as the San Francisco 49ers and New York Giants fight for berth in this year's Super Bowl.
If the 49ers expect to come away from this NFC Championship Game with a victory, it will be crucial they make these five adjustments in the second half.
1. Keep feeding the ball to Frank Gore

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
The 49ers must stick with their game plan in the second half by giving Frank Gore numerous carries. With Gore's physical running style, the rushing attack of San Francisco could wear down the New York Giants front seven.
Although Alex Smith was a big reason for last week's victory, much of the team's success has come through the running game. Pound the rock and lean on what has been bringing you success throughout the season.
Gore is due for a big play or two in the second half.
2. Play action!
With the focus of the offense being in the running game, mixing in play-action is crucial for the 49ers' success on offense.
While Smith is not a great quarterback, he sure has made great strides this season. Mix in some play-action and let Smith air it out downfield.
With weapons like Michael Crabtree and Vernon Davis, Smith could break down the Giants defense with some deep throws to them.
Play-action is key!
3. Pressure Eli Manning
There are a lot of factors in today's game that make it favorable for the 49ers defense to force some turnovers.
Not only will they keep Manning on their toes with the numerous blitzes, but the weather could play a big part in possession of the football.
If the 49ers can pressure Manning in the second half, he could force a couple passes or possibly lose his grip on the football while roaming the pocket due to the wet conditions.
The front seven of the 49ers has been dominant so far in this game. The weather conditions have made it tough for Manning to escape pressure, so the advantage lies with the San Francisco defense.
4. Limit the Giants' tight end production
Yes, I realize the 49ers are the team with Vernon Davis, but the 49ers defense will need to keep an eye on the Giants' tight ends.
While Travis Beckum or Jake Ballard haven't put up numbers anywhere close to Davis, the combination of them in the passing game can be as equally as dangerous.
Manningham, Cruz and Nicks will be the focus of the 49ers defense, which is why I think Beckum and Ballard could have a big second half.
The 49ers need to make sure they don't lose sight of those tight ends while they cover the Giants' dangerous wide receivers.
5. Take some chances
With the weather being so bad, the kicking game will be tough to predict for both teams. The weather is not conducive to a successful kicking game, so I would implore the 49ers to take some chances on offense.
If they are faced with a 4th-and-short, go for it. Throw the occasional deep ball to keep the Giants defense on their toes.
The 49ers can utilize players like Frank Gore and Vernon Davis in short-yardage situations, which significantly increases their chances of converting on a fourth down.
Taking chances will be a big momentum boost for your team, and it will make the 49ers fans even louder and crazier.
