Miami Heat: LeBron James and the Heatles Rock Retro Jerseys to Honor Floridians
The Miami Heat will be dressed to kill this weekend against the Philadelphia 76ers on Saturday night and the Milwaukee Bucks on Sunday in South Beach.
LeBron James and company are set to rock the throwback Floridians jerseys, made famous by the Miami Floridians of the ABA.
This epic shot of Dwyane Wade comes from CNBC's Darren Rovell.
Now say what you want about the Heatles and everything they stand for as one of the league's much-despised super teams, but these threads mean business.
Well, anything is better than that black and white silk the Heat wore Thursday night against the LA Lakers. No wonder Dwyane Wade sat out in street clothes.

In all seriousness though these new Miami unis are quite the tribute to a classic ABA franchise that was absolutely forgotten after just a few short years in South Florida.
The Floridians only lasted from 1968 to 1972 in the ABA but made the playoffs three times in those four seasons.
Joseph Goodman thinks the shorts are necessary however if the Heat are to take the floor in true Floridian fashion.
It is kind of awkward though that Wade would pose in the old school outfit considering he is questionable to play Saturday night.
However if he is relegated to shouting words of encouragement from the bench, why not do so while wearing a fake Afro and twirling a red, white and blue ABA ball in his hands?

If you're a fan of comedy than Jackie Moon's Flint Tropics instantly came to mind when you first saw this throwback combo of shorts and jersey, that's what this tweeter, Terry W. W. thought of.
I can only imagine if the Heat lose one of these games though. ESPN and basketball networks everywhere will be exploding with NBA analysts criticizing how Miami will never win a championship until they start taking things seriously.
Tweeter Artty Lince is not only a fan of the unis, but also the 70s style.
I'll admit, it is hard to take LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh seriously when they are dressed up in fake Afros, moustaches and sun glasses, but where is the line between fun and not serious drawn?
The Heat now have another excuse to sell additional merchandise, and to do so while paying respect to some ABA legends.
As much reason as the Heatles present for fans to root against them, you can't hate on these retro threads.
