What's At Stake?
The New York Knicks are finally looking like the team we thought they would be after they added Tyson Chandler and have ripped off a four-game winning streak.
Most of those wins came against lowly teams like the Wizards, Pistons and Bobcats, but last night’s victory was over the Atlantic Division-leading 76ers.
Now they will try and add to that streak with a road game against the Memphis Grizzlies.
Memphis is having a good start to their year despite the fact that they lost Zach Randolph for an indefinite amount of time with a knee injury.
They have weathered the storm well and look like a playoff bound team that will only get better.
What They're Saying
Steve Adamek of The New York Times found that the Knicks beat the 76ers with defense, and Carmelo Anthony acknowledged that they are improving on that end.
"“We’re starting to buckle down on the defensive end,” Anthony said. “We’re starting to trust one another. We’re having each other’s backs out there.”
"
Ronald Tillery of Memphis Commercial Appeal found that the Grizzlies defense is frustrating coach Lionel Hollins.
""We're not scoring consistently. Our defense isn't consistent. Our rebounding is not very good. We're not a very good team right now," said Hollins, whose squad is mired in a three-game losing streak.
"That's why I brought them in today and said (forget) everybody talking about what we don't have in terms of time and personnel. I'm worried about us playing the right way and playing together."

Knicks Player to Watch: Carmelo Anthony
![]()
The Knicks superstar has been playing great on offense and defense during their winning streak and is a large reason for their success.
If he can continue this run, there is no reason why the Knicks will fail.
Grizzlies Player to Watch: Rudy Gay
If he is good to go tonight—and it’s not certain, as he missed practice yesterday—Gay will need to muster up a solid performance to beat the Knicks.
His field-goal, three-point and free-throw percentages were all atrocious in their most recent loss to the Thunder, so he must improve upon those.
Key Matchup: Defense
The Knicks defense is on the up-and-up, while the Grizzlies can’t find any semblance of solid team defense in this three-game losing streak.
Whoever defends best tonight will win.
Prediction
Knicks 99, Grizzlies 95
