Tim Tebow: Power Ranking Denver QB's Greatest NFL Performances

Wes ODonnellJan 9, 2012

Tim Tebow needs no introduction.

Honestly, what could one say that his name doesn't say already?

Tebow has become not only a household name, but a worldwide phenomenon.

Love him or hate him, you know who he is.

So, without further ado, it's time to rank Tebow's top NFL performances.

Or, as we commonly say, it's Tebow Time.

10. Interviews and Press Conferences

1 of 10

Tim Tebow is consistently an exciting press conference and/or interview.

He talks about himself, more about his team and even more about Jesus.

There is always something worth quoting.

9. First NFL Win: Broncos 24, Texans 23 (Week 16, 2010)

2 of 10

Tebow Time actually began last year when the rookie took over for Kyle Orton (the first time) and earned his first ever win as a starter in Week 16.

No. 15 was 16-of-29 for 308 yards with one touchdown and one interception in his second career start.

He ran for only 27 yards in the game, but it was his six-yarder with three minutes remaining that gave the Broncos the go-ahead score.

Tebowmania was subdued the following week, but he wouldn't stay down for long.

8. Overtime Prayers: Broncos 16, Chargers 13 (Week 12, 2011)

3 of 10

The Broncos and Tebow basically ended the Chargers' playoff hopes with their 16-13 OT win in Week 12.

No. 15 threw for 143 yards and one touchdown, no interceptions and he ran for 67 yards.

It wasn't his greatest performance, but he led them down for the tying score with under two minutes to go in regulation.

Late in overtime, after Tebow was caught "Tebowing" on Nick Novak's 53-yard game-winning attempt, he led the Broncos back down the field for yet another victory.

7. 2 Completions: Broncos 17, Chiefs 10 (Week 10, 2011)

4 of 10

This game really speaks for itself.

No. 15 completed two of eight passes, one for a touchdown, and ran for another score.

The Broncos defense was the most important factor of this game, but it was Tebow's timely playmaking that kept Denver ahead of Kansas City by enough to earn the W.

6. Fear the Option: Broncos 38, Raiders 24 (Week 9, 2011)

5 of 10

A week after Tebow's first loss as a starter in 2011, the Broncos traveled to the Black Hole to take on then-division leading Raiders.

No. 15 only accounted for one of the Broncos' four touchdowns in the second half of the win, but the Broncos ran for 299 yards, and it was clearly evident they couldn't handle Tebow or Willis McGahee.

Tebow went 118 yards on the ground and threw for 124 yards and two touchdowns.

5. The Shootout: Broncos 35, Vikings 32 (Week 13, 2011)

6 of 10

A lot was made of the Broncos defense dominating opposing teams and giving Tebow a shot late in the game to win.

That wasn't the case against the Vikings in Week 13, and it was Tebow and the offense that had to lift the Broncos to victory.

No. 15 completed 10 of 15 passes for 202 yards and two touchdowns and only ran for 13 yards.

He put the ball where it needed to be and drove his team down for the tying and go-ahead field goals in 1:33.

4. The 95-Yard Drive: Broncos 17, Jets 13 (Week 11, 2011)

7 of 10

Rex Ryan and his trash-talking Jets traveled to Denver on a Thursday night in mid-November and got Tebowed as hard as almost anyone.

The quarterback only completed 9-of-20 passes for 104 yards and no touchdowns. The Jets had dominated the Denver run game for most of the night.

In fact, they dominated the entire offense and limited Denver to only 134 yards in the game until...the drive.

Down 13-10 with 5:54 seconds and 95-yards to go, Tebow came out and methodically drove his team down the field first down after first down. Only twice were the Broncos forced to convert a third down, and it was the second one, a 3rd-and-4 from the Jets 20-yard line, that he took off around the left side and didn't stop until he found the endzone with less than a minute to play.

3. 10 Down, 4:30 to Go: Broncos 13, Bears 10 (Week 14, 2011)

8 of 10

The last regular season win the Broncos recorded was against the Chicago Bears at Soldier Field.

Tebow finished the day 21-of-40 for 236 yards, but it was his miraculous final two minutes that did it all.

The Broncos scored their first touchdown, a 10-yard Tebow pass to Demaryius Thomas, with 2:08 remaining.

A dominant defense stand gave him the ball back with 53 seconds to play down three, and he again found a way to tie the ball game.

Following a Marion Barber fumble in Denver territory, Tebow drove his Broncos back the other way, and Matt Prater booted it home for the win that ultimately put the Broncos in the playoffs.

2. Taking over Once and for All: Broncos 18, Dolphins 15 (Week 7, 2011)

9 of 10

Tebowmania started this season in No. 15's debut down in Miami.

Ironically enough, it was a 15-point deficit that Tebow had to erase with less than six minutes to play.

A touchdown pass, an onside kick, a touchdown pass and a two-point conversion later, and the Broncos found themselves in overtime, where they ultimately forced a fumble in Miami territory and kicked a game-winner.

Tebow Time had become a very legitimate reality.

No lead was safe with Tebow under center.

1. Mile-High Miracle: Broncos 29, Steelers 23 (Wild Card Playoffs, 2012)

10 of 10

The miraculous Wild Card win over the Pittsburgh Steelers will be known for the 80-yard catch-stiff arm-and-run in overtime.

But it was also Tim Tebow's best football game as an NFL quarterback.

He made solid reads, he threw some great footballs into tight windows and he actually manipulated a defense a bit.

Tebow proved that he's not just a gimmick; he's a real NFL quarterback.

The most exciting part of all this is that it is just the start of Tebow's career.

If this season is any indication, we are some damn lucky fans.
