Manchester United Transfer Rumours: 5 Players That Would Help United the Most

As the transfer window starts to come to an end, Manchester United continues to add pieces for another English Premier League title run and a longer EUFA Champions League run.

Sir Alex Ferguson has admitted that the deal for Wesley Sneijder has gone cold recently. Things could potentially change in the future, allowing United to land the Dutchmen.

The transfer window closes on August 31st. There are multiple players that United are looking at, especially in the midfield. 

Obviously, the Red Devils can't sign every player on this list. Here are five players that will help them the most.

No. 5: Paulo Henrique Ganso

Brazilian midfielder Paulo Henrique Ganso has been linked to Manchester United. The 21-year-old Ganso is considered by many as the "new Kaka." If he is anything close to Kaka's level, United will be in good shape in the midfield for years to come.

Manchester United is in search of a central midfielder, and Ganso fits the bill. He scored 26 goals in 110 appearances with Santos.

Ganso is a young talent with lots of upside. Manchester United could find a gem if they are able to land the Brazilian.

No. 4: Marek Hamsik

Marek Hamsik is being linked to Manchester United. He is a 23-year-old Slovakian midfielder who plays at Napoli.

He captains the Slovakian national team.

Hamsik has scored 41 goals in 140 appearances for Napoli. He scored eight goals in 48 appearances for his home country.

If the deal for Wesley Sneijder break through (which they have), Hamsik could be the main target for Sir Alex Ferguson.

Hamsik is ready for a big move, and a move to Old Trafford could be on his plane ticket.

No. 3: Christian Eriksen

Christian Eriksen is 19 years of age. He plays for Ajax and is from Denmark.

There were rumours of Eriksen heading to powerhouse clubs like Chelsea, Barcelona and AC Milan, but ultimately decided to play for Ajax. He mentioned how he didn't want his first leap in to club football to be too big.

Now, after one season with Ajax, he may be ready for his big move.

Eriksen collected six goals in 43 appearances last season.

Manchester United could be a place where he could settle in to the big stage, grow and eventually become the superstar people believe he can be.

No. 2: Luka Modric

If Wesley Sneijder doesn't work out for Manchester United, another quality midfielder would be Luka Modric from Tottenham.

The Croatian has scored nine goals in 91 appearances for Tottenham. He is a very versatile player who can push up or track back to pressure attackers.

His ability to be a two-way player could help Manchester United tremendously in possession.

No. 1: Wesley Sneijder

Manchester United and Wesley Sneijder have been linked to a transfer rumour for a long time now. Even if the deal does look dead in the water, things could change before the market closes.

Internazionale is doing anything they can to keep the Netherlands star. Sneijder is one of the best midfielders in all of football. Few can control the play as well as Sneijder can. He would be a perfect fit in the midfield with Wayne Rooney and Dimitar Berbatov as forwards.

Should the Red Devils make the deal for Sneijder? Absolutely, if they can.

His signing would bring a reliable midfielder with loads of talent, as well as a deadly free kick taker to United.

Sneijder scored eight goals in 51 appearances for Inter.
