2016 Premier League 2: Saturday's U23 Scores, Latest Tables and Updated Schedule
Manchester City missed out on going top of Premier League 2 Division One after drawing 2-2 with Chelsea at the City Football Academy in Manchester on Saturday.
The junior Citizens lost the lead twice en route to dropping two vital points. It's a stalemate that means Everton remain top of the standings.
Striker Lukas Nmecha netted the opening goal for City on the stroke of half-time. However, Ike Ugbo drew Chelsea level in the second half, before Thierry Ambrose came off the bench to bag what looked like the winner for the hosts.
Yet City were pegged back again when they had to play the last 12 minutes with 10 men after defender Cameron Humphreys was dismissed for receiving two yellow cards.
City stay second ahead of Monday's fixtures that will see both neighbours Manchester United and leaders Everton in action in Division One.
Aston Villa were the winners of the day's Division Two fixture. They won a six-goal thriller against Stoke City in Staffordshire.
Villa have now moved into the top four, while the Potters remain one place off the bottom.

Recap
Nmecha scored to cap a sweeping move that showcased how well City moved the ball during the first half in Manchester. The youthful Citizens were slick with their passing, always shifting the ball between the lines and intelligently rotating their positions.
Their dominance was most obvious in midfield, where steady and efficient distribution kept City on the ball and had Chelsea chasing shadows. In particular, classy No. 10 Brahim Diaz was dictating proceedings with some stylish touches and impressive vision.

Diaz was ably assisted by fellow Spaniard Aleix Garcia. The resourceful No. 6 was tidy in possession and made quick decisions and more than one timely interception.
However, there was plenty of fight about the Blues, who were soon level after the break. It took just three minutes of the second half for Ugbo to net the equaliser.
The home side were rattled but boasted ample quality on the bench. French forward Ambrose entered the game and turned things back City's way with a smart finish in the 64th minute.

Things became tense when Humphreys was sent off. It meant City had to show some defensive resolve to go with their forward flair.
Manager Simon Davies' team couldn't manage it, though. They've now dropped two priceless points and missed out on claiming the top spot.
Similarly, Stoke couldn't hold off a rampant Villa forward line. The Potters went ahead at Clayton Wood after Hakim Abdallah scored. But Libor Kozak levelled things from the penalty spot.

Oliver Shenton put Stoke back in front in the second half, but winger Corey Blackett-Taylor again drew Villa level. There was still time for Kozak to complete a brace and for midfielder Callum O'Hare to round out the scoring.
