
EFL Cup 2016: Results, Final Scores for Tuesday's 3rd-Round Fixtures
Everton crashed out of the 2016 EFL Cup as Norwich City claimed a shock 2-0 win at Goodison Park on Tuesday.
Liverpool made easy work of Derby County on their travels in the third round, running out 3-0 winners at the iPro Stadium.
The Reds will be joined in the next round by Arsenal, who ripped through Nottingham Forest at the City Ground, claiming an impressive 4-0 win with a host of young players in their ranks.
Chelsea made a dramatic comeback at Premier League champions Leicester City, grasping a 4-2 victory after extra time when they were losing 2-0 in the first half.
Bournemouth suffered an unexpected defeat, losing 3-2 to Preston North End at home after the tie went to extra time on the south coast.
There were also wins for Leeds United, Reading and Newcastle United, who all progress to the next round of the tournament.

Norwich claimed the scalp of the night as they beat Everton away to move into the fourth round of the EFL Cup.
It was a dream return to Merseyside for former Toffees player Steven Naismith, who put the Canaries in the lead after 41 minutes.
Alex Pritchard cleared an Enner Valencia shot off the line as Everton hunted an equaliser, but it was Josh Murphy who grabbed the decisive goal, ending the hosts' chances 16 minutes from the end.
The defeat was the first for new Everton manager Ronald Koeman, who has watched his team hit a rich vein of form during the opening weeks of the season.

Derby were no match for their opponents as Liverpool arrived in town, and the Reds were ruthless as they ran out 3-0 winners.
Ragnar Klavan gave the visitors the lead, scoring his first Liverpool goal from a Philippe Coutinho corner. Coutinho grabbed the second after combining with Roberto Firmino before setting up Divock Origi to claim a third.

The Gunners were supreme as they travelled to the City Ground, and they completed a one-sided affair, beating Forest 4-0 with a team of youngsters and new stars.
Granit Xhaka's stunning 30-yard strike opened the scoring in the first half, and a second-half brace from Lucas Perez killed off the contest. Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain drove in a late fourth as manager Arsene Wenger appeared delighted on the touchline.

Chelsea battled back from a two-goal deficit to shock Leicester in front of a packed house at the King Power Stadium.
Shinji Okazaki's first-half brace gave the Premier League champions a commanding lead, but goals from Gary Cahill and Cesar Azpilicueta gave the Blues parity at full-time. Chelsea were dominant in extra time as Cesc Fabregas netted twice in two minutes to claim victory.
Preston produced a shock at Bournemouth, defeating the Premier League team 3-2 after extra time.
Simon Makienok was the hero of the hour, and the player buried a hat-trick as the Cherries capitulated. The Danish forward claimed the winner in the 111th minute of the match.

Newcastle also progressed as they eliminated Wolverhampton Wanderers, and Reading defeated Brighton & Hove Albion to claim a spot in the next round. Leeds crept past Blackburn Rovers with a 1-0 win in front of a small crowd at Elland Road.
It was a great night for Liverpool and Arsenal as their fringe talent shone and excelled, while Chelsea will receive a huge shot in the arm after dismantling Leicester when the game was slipping away from them.
The EFL Cup will give many big sides the chance of silverware this term, and as the Premier League waters become harder to navigate, the cup competitions become more important to England's most attractive teams.
