NXT Women's Championship: Kendal Grey (c) vs. Nattie - Part 2

Nattie had control of the action back from the break, but with the encouragement of the audience, Kendal Grey fought free and hit a Missile Dropkick.

Grey pulled down the straps, hoping to push the pace, but The Low-Key Legend fought out of the corner into an STO for a near-fall.

Grey fought into the Ankle Lock again, but Nattie quickly booted her way free into a Sleeper Hold. Grey rolled free, teasing Armbars before the champion caught her challenger with a Back Elbow.

Nattie caught Grey on a Missile Dropkick and reversed into a Sharpshooter. The champion was caught center of the ring for almost a minute before finally making it to the ropes.

The two traded roll-up attempts before the champion rolled free into Shades of Grey for the victory.

Winner: Kendal Grey to retain the NXT Women's Championship

Jaida Parker arrived to face down Nattie and laid out both Nikkita Lyons and Karmen Petrovic when they tried to attack her.

Lola Vice, Kelani Jordan, and Kali Armstrong all appeared on the apron, surrounding the champion as she held her title high to end the night.

Grey has set a strong standard already as champion, showing off her ability to keep up with the grappling speed of Nattie.

This was not the most dramatic contest, but Grey showed off and got a crucial win to start what should be a strong title reign.

NXT Women's Championship: Kendal Grey (c) (w/ Sinclair) vs. Nattie (w/ Lyons and Petrovic)

Vic Joseph ran down the announced card for next week:

  • No. 1 Contender for the NXT Women's Championship: Lola Vice vs. Kelani Jordan vs. Kali Armstrong.
  • NXT Tag Team Championships: The Vanity Project (c) vs. Sean Legacy and Dorian Van Dux.
  • Tate Wilder vs. Naraku.
  • Women's North American Championship: Zaria (c) vs. Layla Diggs.

Nattie made a confident entrance before the commercial break with Nikkita Lyons and Karmen Petrovic. Kendal Grey arrived after the break with Wren Sinclair.

Booker T tried to hype this match by saying this could be the shortest title reign in NXT history. At nine days, this was not true for all NXT titles but would be correct for the NXT Women's Championship.

As Mike Rome did introductions, Nattie got right up in Grey's face, trying to psych her out.

While The Low-Key Legend continued the mind games into the action, Grey caught Nattie in an Ankle Lock.

When Nattie fought free to the outside, Lyons and Petrovic distracted the champion for a Clothesline from The Low-Key Legend.

Sinclair got some back-up from Lola Vice, who brawled with Lyons and Petrovic to the back into the final commercial break of the night (no Picture-in-Picture for any match).

Shiloh Hill vs. Niko Vance (w/ Izzi Dame)

Shiloh Hill went right after Niko Vance with explosive offense including hitting a Diving Clothesline that almost ended this early.

Booker T spent the entire match heavily talking up Niko, who is the Reality of Wrestling (Booker's personal promotion) heavyweight champion.

Niko turned the tide with early physical offense including a Diving Headbutt for a near-fall. He hit an X-Factor for another close pin.

Hill lost his tooth in the action, and Tristan Angels stole it, distracting him for a Uranage followed by X Marks the Spot for the victory.

Winner: Niko Vance

Afterward, Shawn Spears arrived to blast Niko with a steel chair.

Niko Vance made his NXT debut in November 2024 and has rarely been featured since. It makes no sense for him to beat Hill.

This was a forgettable match between two hard-hitting bigger competitors that will mostly serve to once again slow down the momentum of one of NXT's most credible midcard stars.

Tavion Heights and Myles Borne Get Back on Same Page

Tavion Heights arrived unscheduled to talk about what a mistake he made in the build to Great American Bash.

He explained that he had too much ego as well as the fear that he could be forgotten. He asked to apologize to Myles Borne.

The Vanity Project arrived, telling Heights that he fumbled the bag while stealing Jackson Drake's moment.

Brad Baylor and Ricky Smokes also took a moment to mock Sean Legacy and Dorian Van Dux as a team not ready for the NXT tag team champions.

Vanity Project attacked Heights. Borne arrived to make the save, and Borne and Heights cleared the ring of Vanity Project.

Hopefully, this will be the end of the inane argument between Borne and Heights, but it could also be prolonging a Heights heel turn.

It would make more sense if Borne and Heights used this as a chance to go after the NXT Tag Team Championships.

In the NXT lounge, Romeo Moreno and Noam Dar talked about what they need to do to figure this out as a team. Sean Legacy and Dorian Van Dux encouraged them but also argued with each other.

No. 1 Contender Fatal 4-Way for the Women's North American Championship - Part 2

Back from commercial, Izzi Dame laid out Layla Diggs with a Superplex, but Lizzy Rain and Thea Hail hit both with Moonsaults for simultaneous near-falls.

Hail teased the Springboard Senton on Diggs. Izzi stopped her at first, but Hail fought back and laid it into both Lizzy and Diggs. Izzi broke up the pin.

Lizzy caught Izzi and Hail with a pair of Cutters then caught Diggs with another Cutter for a near-fall, but Izzi broke it up again.

Izzi's Chokeslam on Diggs would have won if not for Hail breaking it up. The crowd was completely behind Hail down the stretch of this match.

Lizzy knocked down Izzi with a Running Back Uppercut but took a Shining Wizard from Diggs, who Hail locked in a Kimura Lock. Diggs fought free.

A Running Knee from Izzi caught Hail, but Lizzy fought back into the action. Lizzy and Izzi exchanged hard strikes center of the ring until Lizzy hit a Back Headbutt.

Lizzy caught Hail with Thunderstruck, but Izzi knocked both women out of the ring with a Running Knee. Diggs hit Hail with a Moonsault for the win.

Winner: Layla Diggs to earn a Women's North American Championship match next week

While Diggs celebrated, Lizzy and Izzi exchanged biting words outside the ring.

This was a high energy 4-Way where everyone stood out. In particular, as Booker T said multiple times, this was a showcase for the underused Hail.

This will likely stand as the match of the night and showed that every woman here should be a future threat to Zaria.

Diggs' win makes sense as she needed a big opportunity. Lizzy and Izzi are clearly committing to a feud. The only question is: what is Hail doing next?

Reina Volcan delivered a pre-taped warning to the roster, promising to lay waste to all of the NXT favorites.

No. 1 Contender Fatal 4-Way for the Women's North American Championship

Layla Diggs told Nattie, Karmen Petrovic and Nikkita Lyons that she needed to fight her battle alone for the night while Petrovic and Lyons promised to be in Nattie's corner for the main event.

Lizzy Rain, Thea Hail and Izzi Dame arrived before the commercial break. Izzi has a modified entrance where she and Niko Vance took over the opening narration from Shawn Spears.

Layla Diggs was the last to arrive with the action starting quickly after the break.

Vic Joseph joked with Booker T about the problem with having a Lizzy and Izzi in the same match. Booker promised not to get them mixed up.

The action was fast and energetic with multiple quick unique pin attempts. Izzi tried to shut down the fun but faced the wrath of Lizzy with Machine Gun Chops on both Izzi and Diggs.

Diggs sent Izzi to the floor after a Gourdbuster. She then dived onto both Izzi and Lizzy outside followed by Hail jumping onto everyone with a senton. She celebrated with the crowd into the commercial break.

Naraku Promises Torment for Tony D'Angelo

In a pre-taped promo, Naraku promised in Japanese to torment Tony D'Angelo until he took the NXT Championship from him.

Tate Wilder told Kam Hendrix he was going to fight Naraku next week.

Hendrix blamed Mason Rook for a knee injury he was still rehabbing while promising to make Rook pay for it.

Rook arrived to question why Hendrix was telling everyone that he injured him. Hendrix ran off and called Wilder a bad friend.

Keanu Carver vs. Tank Ledger

Before the next match, Emily Agard interviewed Saquon Shugars backstage, who said he knew he needed some allies against DarkState. He also delivered a delightful modification of a cliché line:

"I'm playing chess. They playing Hungry Hippo."

Tank Ledger went right after Keanu Carver, attacking the big man with anger and speed, but Carver fought back and beat down Tank.

Booker T continued to talk about his concerns with Carver but refused to take a stance of what NXT management should do about the anger of the big man.

Carver nearly took the win with a Sit-Out Powerbomb despite his bandaged knee partially buckling on the impact.

Tank fought back, almost pulling off the upset after a Swanton.

Carver responded with an impressive impact off a Dropkick then followed up with an Elevate Powerslam for the victory.

Winner: Keanu Carver

This is the way to quickly rebound after a monster heel takes a pair of tough losses. While Tank gave him some trouble, Carver mostly controlled the action.

His offensive flurry at his size is impressive and makes him one of the most obvious breakout candidates in NXT right now.

No. 1 Contender 4-Way Tag for the NXT Tag Team Championships - Part 2

The chaos continued back in the ring until Bronco Nima ran over everyone in his path.

OTM though could not keep the control forever as BirthRight almost stole the win with a Rebound Suplex into a Sit-Out Powerbomb on Dorian Van Dux for a near-fall.

Channing "Stacks" Lorenzo had DVD on the top rope but accidentally slipped in a bad fall that luckily did not seem to cause serious injury.

Osiris Griffin jumped onto the field of stars outside before Saquon Shugars arrived to cause problems for DarkState until Dion Lennox ran him off.

Most of BirthRight and OTM brawled to the back while DVD hit Uriah Connors with a Frog Splash into a Sean Legacy 450 Splash for the victory.

Winners: Sean Legacy and Dorian Van Dux to earn an NXT Tag Team Championships match next week

This was a wild over-the-top match built on the promise of nearly non-stop action. It was chaotic with a few messy falls but ultimately showcased the talent of all involved.

This match made a strong case that this tag team division is hotter than many may realize. While an upset on paper, it would not be shocking if Legacy and DVD go all the way to capture the gold next week.

Jaida Parker admitted that Nattie was in her head, but she has rebounded with her win against Karmen Petrovic, promising to get her lick back on The Low-Key Legend soon.

No. 1 Contender 4-Way Tag for the NXT Tag Team Championships

DarkState and OTM arrived before the commercial break while Sean Legacy and Dorian Van Dux had an entrance during the ads before BirthRight arrived.

While BirthRight got the final entrance, it was hard to take them seriously next to far more imposing stars such as OTM and DarkState.

This was contested with four men legal, allowing constant action and frequent tags throughout a chaotic battle.

Saquon Shugars watched early on as Bronco Nima and Osiris Griffin exchanged powerful moves early in this contest.

Uriah Connors and Channing "Stacks" Lorenzo finally found an opening to take over the action by knocking down Lucien Price and Cutler James to isolate Legacy into the commercial break.

Kali Armstrong Has Something to Say

Kali Armstrong started the show in the ring, telling everyone that their love of Kendal Grey made her an obvious target.

The former Women's Evolve champion said she was done waiting for an opportunity and made the conversation about herself.

She promised to take down Grey or Nattie on her way to the NXT Women's Championship.

Lola Vice interrupted to tell Kali that she could not jump past her as she was still looking for her rematch to get her NXT Women's Championship back.

Kelani Jordan arrived to declare her intention to go over the gold after beating Tatum Paxley last week. A fight broke out that ended with a Kali Connection to both Vice and Jordan.

Kali did a solid job in her first solo promo in NXT, even if she did not sound completely confident.

The follow-up to her promo was an overdone trope with the NXT women's division where multiple women interrupted one another and talked over each other.

At least Kali looked good by the end, but these promo spots often expose the flaws in the promo game of Vice and Lani.
