BS Meter on Latest AEW All In Rumors, New WWE's Bloodline Plans, Drew McIntyre's Return, More

Pro wrestling itself might be heading for what one could consider a mini-offseason in the post-SummerSlam haze before things really kick up after the holidays into WrestleMania prep. 

Nobody told the rumor mill, though. 

The buzz just keeps on flowing in a major way around the sport. This week features Roman Reigns and Bloodline speculation around WrestleMania plans, major names swapping companies and how big debuts change things. 

And that's just a small hint. To help fans keep up with the rumor mill, let's throw the must-know rumors on the BS Meter, with 10 being the highest form of unbelievable buzz fans can safely dismiss.

Drew McIntyre return latest

The Rumor

The Drew McIntyre speculation should end soon. According to PW Insider (h/t Geno Mrosko of Cageside Seats), he's ready to come back, but WWE creative doesn't have anything for him right now. 

Reaction

It's no secret McIntyre had outside commitments. Fans last saw him in April and probably best remember his brief title win over Cody Rhodes, only to give it right back. Whether that was due to his needing to take a break or not remains unknown. 

BS Meter: 1

This all tracks. McIntyre wasn't involved at SummerSlam, so he always figured to be back in the fall at the earliest. And with how fluid things are on a weekly basis, it's not a shock that WWE creative wasn't holding something for him. Expect him soon, though. 

OTM debut reaction

The Rumor

The most recent episode of Raw featured a major surprise: The OTM debut. According to False Finish (h/t Mrosko), those inside WWE liked how things went over for the stable as they got involved with Bloodline stuff. 

Reaction

This was a weird one. A brutal live crowd that was pretty silent for most of the Raw broadcast didn't have much of a reaction to the major debut. But the internet was ablaze about it, and thankfully, it sounds like WWE internally aligns with the internet on this one.

There have been disastrous debuts in the past that made it super-obvious those behind the curtains wouldn't be happy. OTM aligning with Royce Keys and making things interesting with Solo Sikoa-LA Knight-Bloodline stuff was the opposite as a fantastic surprise. 

New Day to AEW update

The Rumor

It's still just a matter of time, right? According to WrestleVotes (h/t Cain A. Knight of Cageside Seats), the expectation remains that New Day will debut in AEW at All In. 

Reaction

New Day at Wembley Stadium? Sounds fun. Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston feel like a matter of time in the promotion after the shocking WWE release. And as speculated by most, them popping up in the trios gauntlet match seems like the obvious landing spot, at least initially,

It will never not be weird to consider Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston as non-WWE-lifers. Alas, here we are. The biggest question isn't if the duo will go to AEW, it's when and by what exact name. All In was always the most obvious projected date. 

Ilja Dragunov latest

The Rumor

Following buzz that Ilja Dragunov didn't want to be in WWE anymore, WrestleVotes (h/t Knight) reports that AEW's Tony Khan will target him soon. 

Reaction

The report even mentions that perhaps Khan has already done so, if not signed Dragunov outright. When Dragunov suddenly left WWE, it was only a matter of time before this buzz started up.

Dragunov going to AEW is obvious. We'll see, though, if he's a bigger draw there, as WWE clearly didn't view him as a main-event guy who moves the proverbial needle. But it sure feels like he fits better over there, anyway. Maybe there's an outside chance he's another All In surprise?

The Bloodline WrestleMania buzz

The Rumor

What's next and for how long for The Bloodline? According to WrestleVotes (h/t Knight), the plan for the current ongoing saga is to stretch through next year's WrestleMania. And for what it's worth, Wrestling Observer Radio's Dave Meltzer (h/t Knight), suggested that The Rock might not happen due to money reasons. 

Reaction

First of all, no Rock involvement isn't that big of a surprise given his recent WWE flops and then absence. Second, the Bloodline continuing for that long would in no way be a shock, either, considering this new arc feels like it's just getting started. Fans haven't even seen Zilla Fatu involved just yet.

Easiest buy of the week. Why would WWE cut this saga off after Survivor Series? While there have been some dips at times, it's one of the best modern pro wrestling stories ever. Roman Reigns is top dog, the faction as a whole is interesting right now and Solo Sikoa is turning into a breakout star. No reason to earmark a premature end date, especially when the stories can build up to something really special with payoffs at WrestleMania.
