Jesús Made, Leo De Vries and MLB's 25 Best Prospects Under 20 Years Old

The next wave of MLB talent is currently rising through the ranks in the minor leagues, and the future of the league is in good hands.

Jesús Made (MIL), Leo De Vries (ATH), Eli Willits (WAS) and 2026 draft pick Grady Emerson (TB) are all top-10 prospects in the sport, despite the fact that they are all still teenagers.

Who will be next to join them as future stars in the game?

Ahead, we've ranked the top 25 prospects who are under 20 years old, based on current production, future upside and long-term expectations. Included is a look at where they slotted on B/R's most recent Top 100 prospect list.

Signed for $2 million on the strength of his 60-hit, 55-power offensive profile and highly projectable 6'3", 184-pound frame, Alvarez has looked the part this year while jumping straight from the DSL to stateside full-season ball. With more power to come, he is just scratching the surface of his offensive ceiling.

One of only five prospects on this list that has advanced above High-A, Gonzales made his Double-A debut on Aug. 18 and he has gone 9-for-24 with two home runs through six games. With an imposing 6'5" frame, plus power and a strong arm, he fits the prototypical right field mold.

Stats: Has not made pro debut

Rojas was the second pitcher taken in the 2026 draft and the first prep arm off the board when the Rangers selected him No. 16 overall, and he provides a rare mix of polish and upside. His pro debut will come in 2027, and he could move faster than most high school arms thanks to his advanced pitchability.

One of the top power bats in the 2025 high school class, Neyens has quickly elevated his profile with some of the best plate discipline in the minors. His 109 walks rank second across all of minor league baseball, and he has still flashed his top-tier power while logging a 25.3 percent walk rate.

The Phillies gave Renteria the second-highest bonus of any prospect in the 2026 international class, and that $4 million investment looks like money well spent in his pro debut. His 55-power, 60-speed profile has been on full display in the DSL, and his stateside debut next year will be among the most anticipated in baseball.

Over 19 games in his pro debut, Kilby hit .353/.457/.441 at Single-A after going No. 39 overall in the 2025 draft. A hamstring injury has cost him much of the 2026 season, but a standout hit tool, plus speed, and his overall offensive polish could make him a fast riser up these rankings with clean health going forward.

19. SS Jacob Lombard, Miami Marlins

The younger brother of Yankees shortstop George Lombard Jr. and No. 14 overall pick in the 2026 draft, Lombard is a potential five-tool talent if he can make strides with his hit tool. Even if there is swing-and-miss to his game, his power-speed combination and plus glove at a premium position give him huge upside.

18. SS Steele Hall, Cincinnati Reds

The Reds took Hall with the No. 9 overall pick in the 2025 draft based more on raw athleticism and upside than present polish, but his pro debut this year has quickly elevated his prospect profile. A plus glove and top-of-the-scale speed were viewed as his standout tools, but he has shown more initial power than expected with a .475 slugging percentage and 11 home runs.

17. C Nathan Flewelling, Tampa Bay Rays

The 2026 Futures Game MVP, Flewelling has been one of the biggest breakout prospects of the year, potentially giving the Rays the long-term answer at catcher that has eluded them for years. With Caden Bodine also emerging as a top-tier catching prospect, the Tampa Bay system suddenly has an enviable strength.

16. OF/2B Roldy Brito, Colorado Rockies

Brito turned 19 years old on April 8, and he hit .327/.390/.506 with 36 extra-base hits in 79 games at Single-A before he was promoted to High-A following the All-Star break. His long-term defensive home is still up in the air, but he can flat-out hit, and he's a good enough athlete to develop into a solid outfielder if he doesn't stick on the dirt.

It's not hyperbole to say that Booth could end up being the best player to come out of the 2026 draft class if everything clicks. An elite athlete with dynamic raw tools, he also possesses an advanced hit tool and significant power upside thanks to his strength and bat speed. His first full season of pro ball next year could send him flying up Top 100 lists.

14. IF Jhonny Level, San Francisco Giants

While Josuar Gonzalez (2025) and Luis Hernández (2026) have generated more buzz as hyped prospects from their respective international classes, Level has been every bit as productive since signing for $997,500 out of Venezuela in 2024. With a .313/.376/.487 line over 290 plate appearances at High-A and standout defensive tools, he could start the 2027 season at Double-A.

13. SS Luis Hernández, San Francisco Giants

The $4,997,500 bonus given to Hernández was the largest of any prospect in the 2026 international class, and he has more than held his own while immediately moving stateside for his pro debut. He has the raw tools to develop into a perennial .300 hitter with 25-homer power and standout defense at shortstop, and he is on a developmental path similar to Leo De Vries.

12. SS Emil Morales, Los Angeles Dodgers

After winning DSL MVP honors in 2024 and posting a .911 OPS over 89 games in his stateside debut last year, Morales has solidified his status as a top-tier prospect. There's a good chance he will outgrow shortstop as his 6'3", 191-pound frame matures, but his power production makes him a clean fit at the hot corner. His 111 RBI this year lead all of minor league baseball.

11. C Rainiel Rodriguez, St. Louis Cardinals

Rodriguez possesses some of the best raw power of any prospect, and after hitting 20 home runs over 84 games in the lower levels of the minors last year, he has continued to rake in 2026. He is batting .402/.440/.817 with eight home runs and 21 RBI in 19 games at the Double-A level in August, and a 2027 debut in the big leagues is not out of the question.

10. OF Josiah Hartshorn, Chicago Cubs

Hartshorn might look like an out-of-nowhere prospect after going from sixth-round selection in 2025 to consensus Top 50 prospect in 2026, but the Cubs gave him a $2 million signing bonus for a reason. He has a .946 OPS with 16 home runs and 77 RBI in 74 games since earning an early promotion to High-A, and while his value outside the batter's box is limited, he has the offensive game to be a star.

9. SS Ethan Holliday, Colorado Rockies

Stats (A): 33 G, .262/.395/.557, 16 XBH (9 HR), 1 SB

After hitting a lackluster .239/.357/.380 with a 39.3 percent strikeout rate over 18 games at Single-A in his pro debut last year, Holliday looked much more like the player he was expected to be in the early going this year. Unfortunately, a stress fracture in his left foot at the end of May led to season-ending surgery, and he will look to pick up where he left off in 2027.

8. OF Edward Florentino, Pittsburgh Pirates

Signed for a modest $395,000 in 2024, Florentino broke out with a .948 OPS and 41 extra-base hits in 83 games last season while making his stateside debut. Despite nursing an ankle injury early in the year, he has continued to impress this season with elite raw power and a strong 15.5 percent walk rate that gives him a middle-of-the-order outlook.

7. RHP Kendry Chourio, Kansas City Royals

Stats (A/A+): 19 GS, 2.23 ERA, 0.87 WHIP, 16 BB, 84 K, 84.2 IP

The highest-ranked pitcher on this list, Chourio debuted in the DSL last year and ended the season pitching for Single-A Columbia as the Royals moved him aggressively up the ladder. With three quality pitches, plus command and pitchability that belies his age, he has allowed just 59 hits in 84.2 innings this year. The only question mark is whether his 6'0", 160-pound frame can handle a starter's workload.

6. IF Luis Peña, Milwaukee Brewers

Stats (A+/AA): 63 G, .306/.388/.431, 18 XBH (3 HR), 32 SB

Peña has dealt with some bumps in the road this season, missing a month after collapsing with severe dehydration during an April game and suffering a hamstring injury in June, but he has continued to rake when he has taken the field. His future defensive home is up in the air with a crowded infield situation in Milwaukee, but his hit tool and top-of-the-scale speed have made him an elite prospect.

5. SS Josuar Gonzalez, San Francisco Giants

A quick glance at the tool grades assigned by MLB.com tells the story of why Josuar Gonzalez has quickly emerged as one of the top prospects in all of baseball.

Hit: 55 | Power: 55 | Run: 65 | Arm: 60 | Field: 60

He logged an .859 OPS with more walks (37) than strikeouts (36) over 52 games in the DSL last year, and while he has missed some time with a hamstring injury this year, he has continued to look the part of a future star when healthy.

Over 23 games at Single-A, he is hitting .358/.461/.568 in 115 plate appearances.

4. SS Grady Emerson, Tampa Bay Rays

Stats (A): 6 G, .182/.333/.273, 1 XBH (0 HR), 0 SB

With an elite 65-grade hit tool and legitimate five-tool upside at shortstop, Grady Emerson was a legitimate candidate to go No. 1 overall in the 2026 draft, ultimately slotting in behind UCLA shortstop Roch Cholowsky as the No. 2 pick.

The $9.75 million bonus he signed was the largest ever given to a high school prospect, and while his upside is immense, he also offers a higher floor than most teenagers thanks to his advanced offensive game and terrific glove.

He hit .508 with a 1.549 OPS this spring while becoming just the second high school player ever to be named a semifinalist for the Golden Spikes Award, and he has the potential to be the No. 1 prospect in baseball in the not-too-distant future.

3. SS Eli Willits, Washington Nationals

The No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 draft after reclassifying from the 2026 class, Eli Willits does not turn 19 years old until December, but he already has a full season of terrific production at Single-A under his belt.

The biggest question in his profile entering pro ball was his power ceiling, as his 60-hit, 60-speed offensive game and plus defense gave him an extremely high floor even if he was never a major over-the-fence threat.

However, with 42 extra-base hits and 13 home runs in his first full professional season, any concerns about his offensive impact have largely been erased in 2026. Now the question is how quickly he can move through the Nationals system.

2. SS Leo De Vries, Athletics

Stats (AA): 93 G, .290/.378/.458, 35 XBH (13 HR), 34 SB

Mason Miller is the most dominant reliever in baseball right now, but it still looks like the Padres paid an extremely steep price to acquire him with Leo De Vries as the centerpiece in the package that went to the Athletics at the 2025 trade deadline.

After hitting .426/.460/.723 with three doubles, three home runs and 12 RBI in 50 plate appearances during spring training, he has put together a terrific season as one of the youngest regulars in the Double-A Texas League.

With Jacob Wilson signed long-term, he might wind up shifting from shortstop to third base once he reaches the majors, but it's his offensive game that gives him a chance to be a franchise cornerstone.

Jesús Made went from high-ceiling teenager to one of baseball's elite prospects during the 2025 season when he hit .285/.379/.413 and reached Double-A in his age-18 campaign.

Now he stands as the No. 1 prospect in baseball after a full season at the Double-A level where his five-tool talent was on full display, including a nice uptick in his power production and a terrific 10.4 percent walk rate and 14.6 percent strikeout rate considering his age and level.

It's not out of the realm of possibility that he could get a look as a September call-up for a contending Brewers team. Otherwise, expect him to make a strong push for a spot on the Opening Day roster next spring.
