Live Updates and Highlights from Friday's Week 3 NFL Preseason Games

Sam Ehlinger has a hat trick, with two of his touchdown passes coming in the fourth quarter. For his latest score, he found tight end Justin Joly wide open behind the Vikings defense, and Joly took it the rest of the way for an 88-yard touchdown.

Ehlinger is certainly making his case for sticking on Denver's regular-season roster, as is Joly, a fifth-round rookie out of North Carolina State.

Preseason games might not count, but they matter to the players battling for roster spots and their teammates.

The Broncos don't have many openings on a roster that is capable of contending for a Super Bowl. However, they're looking for the best players to round out their depth chart—and possibly a few to try stashing on the practice squad.

Bo Nix and Jarrett Stidham are at the top of the QB depth chart, but Sam Ehlinger could be the perfect QB3 for Sean Payton's offense. His second touchdown pass of the night, this one to running back Cody Schrader, gave Denver a three-touchdown lead.

Schrader made a couple of highlight-reel plays of his own.

While the Cardinals and Packers game—which ended in a thrilling 42-38 Green Bay victory—was as electrifying as a preseason contest can be, the Chiefs-Seahawks matchup felt very much like a typical exhibition. It ended in a 9-9 tie and featured only a single touchdown.

That score came when second-year quarterback Jalen Milroe found tight end Nick Vannett for a four-yard touchdown.

Seattle drafted Milroe in the third round of the 2025 draft as a developmental project, and the former Alabama standout continues to learn behind Sam Darnold and backup Drew Lock.

Following an interception that gave the Packers possession in the Cardinals' territory, Kyle McCord found Kisean Johnson for their second touchdown connection of the fourth quarter.

It was McCord's fourth touchdown pass of the game and gave Green Bay a 42-38 lead with just 20 seconds remaining.

Preseason games aren't always fun, but Friday's back-and-forth battle between the Cardinals and Packers has been a joy to watch.

Arizona took a 38-27 fourth-quarter lead on Simi Fehoko's second touchdown reception of the day. However, Green Bay answered with Kisean Johnson's 28-yard touchdown grab less than two minutes later:

Undrafted rookie Jamal Haynes may have a difficult time sticking with Cincinnati's backfield, which is headlined by Chase Brown and Samaje Perine. However, the Georgia Tech product made a strong case for a depth role when he knifed through Philadelphia's defense for a 39-yard touchdown run.

Haynes averaged an impressive 5.4 yards per carry in college, and if he doesn't earn a job with the Bengals, Friday's run might be enough to earn him a spot on another roster or practice squad.

Sam Howell tossed his second touchdown pass of the second half, this one to tight end Mitch Van Vooren, to help Dallas close the gap on the Saints. He then tied the game with a successful scramble on the two-point try.

The Bengals saw their lead trimmed to three points late in the third quarter. However, they pushed it back to 10 with this six-yard touchdown run by undrafted free agent Kentrel Bullock late in the fourth quarter.

Eagles running back Carson Steele made a bit of noise last week by topping 100 scrimmage yards against the New England Patriots. On Friday, he found the end zone for the second time in as many weeks on this pass from Andy Dalton.

Of course, one can argue that last week's touchdown reception was a little more impressive:

The Broncos are likely to have a crowded backfield in 2026, but Jaleel McLaughlin made a strong case for sticking with this 20-yard catch-and-run for a touchdown. McLaughlin is battling for a role behind J.K. Dobbins, RJ Harvey, and rookie fourth-round pick Jonah Coleman.

It's been a back-and-forth game between the Cardinals and Packers. Arizona is back on top after taking a 31-24 fourth-quarter lead on Evan Hull's second rushing touchdown of the night.

The Cowboys haven't closed the gap on New Orleans just yet. However, this 26-yard touchdown pass from Sam Howell to Jordan Hudson has made it a one-score game.

The Saints now lead 24-16 early in the fourth quarter.

It's been all Jaguars against the Buccaneers in Jacksonville tonight. The Jags extended their lead with this 63-yard punt return by undrafted free agent Michael Wortham. Joey Aguilar found Chandler Brayboy on the two-point try to push the Jacksonville's lead to 19-0.

2023 fourth-round pick Jake Haener spent his first three seasons with the Saints and is now looking to stick with the Giants behind Jaxson Dart and Jameis Winston. While he came in after Winston and Brandon Allen against the Jets, he flashed with this 37-yard touchdown strike to Xavier Gipson.

Linebacker Jeremiah Moon put the finishing touches on Carolina's 16-13 win with this strip-sack late in the fourth quarter.

The 2022 undrafted free agent, who spent time on the Panthers' practice squad in 2025, got to Texans quarterback Brett Rypien to force the game-sealing turnover. The Panthers took over with less than a minute remaining and were able to kneel it out for the win.

The Saints have opened up a 24-9 lead over the Cowboys in the third quarter. Their latest score came courtesy of running back Zamir White, who was acquired in a trade with the San Francisco 49ers on Monday.

New Orleans added White by sending linebacker Deion Jones to San Francisco. The Saints were searching for backfield depth after Alvin Kamara suffered an MCL sprain.

The Bengals and Eagles had been trading field goals before Ke'Shawn Williams scored the first touchdown of the game. The Cincinnati pass-catcher found the end zone after taking a short pass from quarterback Sean Clifford.

Williams, a 2025 undrafted free agent out of Indiana, has been with the Bengals since he was claimed off waivers in December.

Points have been difficult to come by in the Eagles-Bengals game, in which Cincinnati currently holds a 9-6 lead. However, running back Jordan Mims put the Eagles in scoring range with this excellent punch-out on the third-quarter opening kickoff.

It's no secret that Broncos starting quarterback Bo Nix can make defenses pay with his legs when he needs to. Backup Jarrett Stidham made the Vikings very aware that he can do the same with this first-quarter run.

The Broncos are up 10-0 over the Minnesota Vikings following Adam Prentice's 1-yard touchdown run.

The Panthers were nursing a 9-6 fourth-quarter lead over the Texans. However, Miles Davis' one-yard touchdown run gave Carolina a double-digit lead with less than nine minutes remaining.

After losing the New Orleans Saints' starting QB job to Tyler Shough last season, Spencer Rattler is now vying for the backup role. He gave the Saints a 17-6 lead over the Dallas Cowboys with this eight-yard touchdown run in the second quarter.

Free-agent addition Zach Wilson and 2025 undrafted free agent Hunter Dekkers are also in New Orleans' QB room.

The Packers may find it impossible to keep Will Sheppard off the 53-player roster. Not long after scoring his second touchdown in as many weeks, the Colorado product caught a punt at the Green Bay 19-yard line and took it to the house.

Travis Kelce knows a thing or two about playing tight end at a high level. Even he was impressed by Tre Watson's leap over Seattle Seahawks cornerback Noah Igbinoghene.

Watson, an undrafted rookie out of Texas A&M, is looking to earn a roster spot behind Kelce and Noah Gray.

Defense appears to be option in what is currently a 17-17 game in Green Bay. Packers wide receiver Will Sheppard took advantage on this 12-yard catch-and-run touchdown—his second touchdown in as many games.

Sheppard, a 2025 undrafted free agent out of Colorado, has had a strong camp and preseason that also featured this TD grab from last week:

Their new-look defense has been the talk of the Cincinnati Bengals' preseason. The group flashed again on Friday, as rookie cornerback and third-round pick Tacario Davis picked off Tanner McKee.

Things didn't remain knotted in Green Bay for long. Not long after the Packers made it a 10-10 ballgame, running back Evan Hull scored from 47 yards out to give Arizona the lead.

The Cardinals and Packers are trading scores. Green Bay receiver J. Michael Sturdivant, an undrafted rookie out of Florida, made it a 10-10 contest with a 29-yard touchdown catch and followed it up with a textbook Lambeau Leap.

Receiver Simi Fehoko has made a few standout plays for the Cardinals this preseason. He made another one with this 41-yard touchdown grab on a pass from Gardner Minshew.

The New Orleans Saints and Dallas Cowboys traded field goals early in the first quarter, but rookie sixth-round pick Barion Brown gave the Saints the lead with this seven-yard touchdown run.

Brown, a former LSU wide receiver, could see early opportunities in 2026 as rookie first-round pick Jordyn Tyson recovers from a hamstring injury.

This had to be a pretty memorable moment for these two young NFL players. Brothers Kiko and Francis Mauigoa went up against one another during this Giants' scoring play.

Kiko Mauigoa is a linebacker and was a 2025 fifth-round pick of the Jets out of Miami. Francis Mauigoa is also a former Hurricane, and the rookie lineman was the Giants' second of two first-round picks.

Running back Jonathan Ward, who landed with the Ravens' practice squad in November, got in on the fun as Baltimore continues to pull away from the Commanders. This two-yard touchdown run gave the Ravens a 31-point second-half lead that they are highly unlikely to relinquish.

The Seattle Seahawks took a chance on cornerback Trevon Diggs earlier this month, and the former Pro Bowler is eager to reestablish himself as a big-play NFL defender.

"I'm looking to show I'm still the best," Diggs said, per Greg Bell of The News Tribune.

While Diggs has a long way to go before he can be considered one of the league's top cornerbacks again, he took a step in the right direction with this pick of rookie quarterback Garrett Nussmeier.

The Falcons got their second touchdown of the evening on this throw from quarterback Cooper Rush to undrafted rookie tight end Jack Velling.

The Giants took a 7-6 lead over the cross-town Jets on this six-yard touchdown run by Tyrone Tracy Jr. His score was set up by a little pitch-and-catch between Jameis Winston and Odell Beckham Jr.

Winston should be set as the Giants' backup behind Jaxson Dart. However, Tracy and Beckham are both looking to secure roster spots amid crowded position groups.

Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce will turn 36 in October and may not be the same big-play threat he was early in his career. However, the future Hall of Famer still has some wiggle in his game and looks ready to take on the regular season.

Packers head coach Matt LaFleur and Cardinals head coach Mike LaFleur are brothers. However, they aren't the only pair of siblings involved in Friday's matchup in Green Bay.

Cardinals cornerback Max Melton and Packers receiver Bo Melton got together at midfield for the opening coin toss.

The Panthers and Texans are trading turnovers in Charlotte. Safety George Odum grabbed this interception for Houston on an errant throw by Kyle Trask.

The New York Jets are battling the cross-town Giants in their preseason finale. The Jets find themselves in scoring position, thanks in large part to this heads-up interception by linebacker Marcelino McCrary-Ball.

The Houston Texans and Carolina Panthers matchup remains scoreless heading into the second quarter. However, second-year Panthers safety Lathan Ransom gave Carolina a little momentum with this pick of Davis Mills.

Ransom was a fourth-round pick out of Ohio State and appeared in 16 games with six starts as a rookie.

Tua Tagovailoa helped lead the Falcons to a touchdown on their opening drive. Unfortunately, things didn't go so smoothly on his second opportunity against his former team.

The Falcons capped an impressive opening drive with a three-yard touchdown run by backup running back Brian Robinson.

Tua Tagovailoa is hoping to prove that he can effectively operate Atlanta's offense in its preseason finale. Allowing standout tight end Kyle Pitts Sr. to make plays like this one will certainly make that job easier.

The Arizona Cardinals used the third overall pick on Notre Dame running back Jeremiyah Love. Unfortunately, the rookie has been dealing with a high-ankle sprain that he suffered in the preseason opener.

Love did not participate in joint practices with the Green Bay Packers leading up to the preseason finale. However, fans—and potential fantasy managers—did get a look at Love working out ahead of Friday's game between the Cardinals and Packers:

Tua Tagovailoa was released by the Miami Dolphins at the start of the offseason, and he's currently competing with Michael Penix Jr. for the Atlanta Falcons' starting job.

Interestingly, Atlanta and Miami are facing one another in their preseason finales, and Tagovailoa took a moment before kickoff to meet with some familiar faces:

J.J. McCarthy has already lost the Minnesota Vikings' QB job to Kyler Murray, and now he may not have a chance to secure the QB2 role. According to ESPN Minnesota's Kevin Seifert, McCarthy will be held out of Minnesota's preseason finale because of an ankle injury.

Minnesota will visit the Denver Broncos at 9 p.m. ET.

The Ravens decided that one touchdown drive was enough for Tyler Huntley. Undrafted rookie Joe Fagnano took over at quarterback for Baltimore's second drive, which he capped by calling his own number.

The Ravens have taken an early 7-0 lead over the Commanders, thanks to this fantastic grab by wideout Chris Moore. A 2016 fourth-round pick out of Cincinnati, Moore began his NFL career with Baltimore. He spent the last two seasons in Washington before returning to the Ravens in July.

Tyler Huntley got the start for Baltimore and showed exactly why he's an ideal backup to Lamar Jackson. His dual-threat playing style fits Baltimore's offense perfectly, even in the preseason.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers will face the Jacksonville Jaguars at 7:30 p.m. ET, and fans can expect to see a lot of undrafted quarterback Jalon Daniels. He'll get the start for Tampa, according to Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times, and could push for the Bucs' backup role in 2026.

Baker Mayfield is Tampa's starter. Jake Browning and Connor Bazelak are also in the QB room.

The Baltimore Ravens and Washington Commanders are set to open Friday's schedule, and neither team is expected to put many starters on the field. For Washington, that probably means a heavy dose of quarterbacks Sam Hartman and Athan Kaliakmanis.

Jayden Daniels will sit, while backup Marcus Mariota is out with an MCL sprain.

Kaliakmanis, a seventh-round rookie out of Rutgers, may have already done enough to secure his roster spot. According to Grant Paulsen of 106.7 The Fan, Kaliakmanis could force Washington to keep him on the active roster instead of the practice squad with a strong performance in the preseason finale.

Najee Harris' lone season with the Los Angeles Chargers was ended prematurely by a torn Achilles. Now with a new team, Harris is set to return to the field and make his New York Giants debut on Friday, according to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler.

Harris is looking to earn a role in a Giants backfield that also includes Cam Skattebo, Tyrone Tracy Jr., and Devin Singletary.
