Why the Rex Ryan and Brandon Jacobs Feud Is Funny to Everyone but Jets Fans
The New York Jets got what they deserved on Sunday. After bashing the New York Giants all week, the Jets and head coach Rex Ryan decided it would be smart to further insult the franchise by covering up the Giants' Super Bowl murals on the wall near the team's locker room with black curtains. It was an unnecessary shot, and the G-Men clearly took it to heart.
Then, the Giants let their play do that talking, smacking the Jets around 29-14.
In the postgame aftermath, Giants running back Brandon Jacobs got into a verbal battle with Ryan, during which the Jets head coach reportedly used an expletive and said, "Wait till we win the Super Bowl." Jacobs responded by telling Ryan he would punch him in the face.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Frankly, after all the talking Ryan has done over the past three years, it's about time someone fired back and shut him up. You can't get pushed around by a team on your home field and then go looking to start something with an opposing player. I'm not saying that Jacobs is blameless in this incident, but Ryan deserved anything he got after all the words he's been spewing.
Jacobs claims Ryan instigated the incident, and he even went so far as to claim that he believes Ryan is a great coach, but that he needed to keep his mouth shut.
I completely agree.
Ryan is a decent head coach, but his words and antics have turned off virtually everyone across the football landscape. Jets fans may love him, but no one else does. Maybe that's exactly how he wants it, but still, Ryan's boasting rings hollow considering that his team has yet to reach a Super Bowl and now are in danger of missing the playoffs this season.
Now, Ryan's team sits at 8-7 and must beat the Miami Dolphins in Week 17 and get some help to make the postseason. If the Jets don't make it to the playoffs, Jacobs won't be the only one reveling in Ryan's failure.
