NBA Trade Rumors: Players That Will Be Dealt to New Teams Before the Deadline
The Dwight Howard and Chris Paul rumors have dominated the headlines since the very moment the NBA lockout came to an end.
While it looks like Paul could be traded for the second time in a matter of days, others won't be so lucky.
Here are a few guys that will get dealt, but probably not until around the trade deadline.
Dwight Howard
1 of 6Howard finally demanded a deal to either Dallas, New Jersey or the Lakers, but Magic GM Otis Smith said he won't necessarily deal Howard to a team of his choice. Instead, he will search for the right deal for the team.
Eventually, he's going to have to deal Howard before the deadline. This has huge distraction written all over it.
Al Jefferson
2 of 6Utah has a surplus of frontcourt players after last season's trade netted it Derrick Favors, along with the drafting of Enes Kanter.
It would make sense for the Jazz to deal from a strength to improve another area, so either Jefferson or Paul Millsap could find himself the odd man out.
Monta Ellis
3 of 6Monta Ellis is a pure scorer who forms a dynamic backcourt in Golden State with Stephen Curry, but the Warriors need a big man badly and could dangle Ellis as trade bait once again.
Josh Smith
4 of 6The Hawks have floated Smith's name out there before to gauge interest, but depending on what type of start Atlanta gets off to this season, Smith is one guy who could net them a pretty good return.
Andre Iguodala
5 of 6Every year at the trade deadline, we hear Iguodala's name, but he never gets moved. This year could be different.
With the re-signing of Thaddeus Young and his emergence as a legit player, the Sixers may eventually have to move Iguodala to create more minutes for Young.
O.J. Mayo
6 of 6The Grizzlies may need to get Mayo's contract off the books sooner rather than later. They tried to deal him at last season's deadline and have already been throwing his name out there this year.
