Eagles vs. Seahawks: DeSean Jackson Finding New Ways to Embarrass Himself
Before we go any further, I want to be totally honest about how I feel about Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver DeSean Jackson.
Put simply, I'm a huge fan. I kinda have to be, seeing as how we're both Cal alums. Beyond that, he can be one of the most exciting players in the NFL.
Notice how I said "can be." I did not say "is." Even a DeSean Jackson fan like myself can understand that he doesn't deserve to be billed as one of the most exciting players in the NFL. Not these days.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Jackson's struggles this season have been well-documented, but Thursday night's game against the Eagles and the Seattle Seahawks represented a new low. Considering the lows Jackson has already discovered this season, that's saying something.
In case you missed it, there was a funny moment during last night's game in which Vince Young appeared to be trying to talk to Jackson on the Eagles' sideline. Those who saw it (i.e. everybody) will recall that Jackson didn't seem very interested in listening to him.
In fact, I don't think Jackson even knew VY was there. His facial expression suggested he was somewhere in between dimensions. His mind certainly wasn't in Seattle, Washington.
Now, this little incident could have been excused if Jackson had gone out there and performed. To his credit, Jackson wasn't awful, as he pulled in four receptions for 34 yards. Not great numbers, mind you, but not bad once you consider the fact that Young completed just as many passes to the other team.
But since Jackson couldn't get it done on the field, the lasting image from this game will be him zoning out while VY was trying to talk to him.
Take a moment and consider the other lasting images we have of Jackson from this season. We have seen Jackson be moody, we have seen him be overly boastful, we have seen him shy away from contact, and we have seen him offer an awkward apology for missing a team meeting.
That was for the one time we didn't see him, as he was told to stay home on the day the Eagles lost the Arizona Cardinals in Week 10.
The overarching image we have of Jackson is that of a man who just doesn't want to be there, regardless of whether "there" is in Philadelphia or anywhere else.
I guess that makes the incident with Jackson and VY slightly fitting. For a few brief moments, he clearly wasn't there.
At this point, I would like to remind the other 31 teams in the NFL that DeSean Jackson will be a free agent at the end of the season, and he can be had if you've got the cash.
Any takers?
