NFL Week 12 Waiver Wire: Sleeper Pickups You Need to Make

Ralph LongoNov 24, 2011

Come Week 12 of the NFL season, most of us are scrambling to replace our injured players with quality fill-ins so that we can make that final push and get into the fantasy playoffs.

Here are three guys that you can pick up off waivers to help get you the win in your league come this weekend's slate of games.

Vincent Brown, WR

1 of 3

Vincent Brown is a name that you probably have never heard of.

However, he has had two very solid games out of his last three, starting opposite Vincent Jackson for the San Diego Chargers. With Malcolm Floyd still on the injured list he's likely to see significant playing time.

He also has a very favorable matchup against the Denver Broncos, who have given up the sixth-most fantasy points to wide receivers this season.

He has a good chance to break out, and perhaps could score a cheap TD for you come Week 12. He's only owned in 14 percent of leagues as of right now, so you should be able to pick him up without a problem.

Heath Miller, TE

2 of 3

Heath Miller has flown under the radar somewhat this season and has quietly been pretty productive. He's owned in less than 50 percent of leagues, so he's definitely someone to look at.

Heath has a great matchup against the Chiefs, who have given up the fourth-most fantasy points to tight ends this year and the most points to tight ends in the past five weeks.

With Ben Roethlisberger ailing from a thumb injury on his throwing hand, look for him to check down more than he normally would and go for the safer short routes, giving Miller a chance to have a big day for the Pittsburgh Steelers

Vince Young, QB

3 of 3

I think Vince Young is poised to have a huge game.

The New England Patriots have been terrible against the pass, giving up almost 300 yards per game. Vince would have had over 300 yards last week if it weren't for DeSean Jackson's clowning on the sideline that negated a 50-yard catch.

Young has a great matchup—he should throw for over 300 yards, a couple of TDs and maybe even get some rushing yards.

Since he played so well last week against a very tough New York Giants defensive unit, he should do very well in a possible shootout with the Patriots this Sunday.
